This was extremely helpful, My 1995 Kirby G4D needed a new belt and brush roll, the metal bar that turns the belt was turning, but the belt and brush roll weren't, so this video was very helpful, and I thank you.

Too long or not, your video was the only one that explained it well enough for me to actually put the belt back on my machine. Honestly, I could have done this under 30secs. I tried to tell people that this is a real "beginners" video. Explains everything as if the person has no idea how to put the belt on. I am glad you thought the video was helpful. Good to know some people now can put their own belts!

I was about to go and drop off my vacuum to a vacuum replace shop down the corner of my street, until I remember to try my luck with RU-vid and thank god I did, because I'm sure they would've charged me close to a hundred bucks or more! I wasn't sure how to replace my roller and belt and now I do! I just ordered me 3 belts and 2 rollers for the price of $45! Yay! You made my day!

Great video. Recently I used the vac to spray paint my deck, but when I tried to use the vac the suction was gone. I feared the worse. Little did I know, all I had to do was change the belt. I didn't realize alittle stretching could effect the vac so much. Thx so much!

I love my Kirby although it’s so heavy. Thank you for this video. I use to have the vhs tape it came with, but misplaced it. Cheers to the old upright with bags. I hate the bagless and their plumes of dust.

I want to know just how far i want the brissles on the roller to be hanging down past the guard. Do i want brissles even with the guard.. above the guard or hang slightly lower? I dont know if i need setting on 1 2 or 3

check your roller and find 1 line on both sides and slide it in. You don't want bristles past the frame

There were three labels of the Gsix: the Gsix-model G6, the Limited Edition 2000 G6D, and the Limited Edition 2001 G6D; and two labels of the G7: the Ultimate Series G7 and the Diamond Edition G7D. Is that correct? Does anyone know the production timeline for each (guessing that the 2000 & 2001 were Jan.-Dec. but not sure).

jasperpuddingface take the bottom tray out. Lower the belt if it is still on then hit a hard surface to get the roller out. You can't hurt the powerhead. It is aircraft aluminum.

Thank you, It is out and I have cleaned it all up but can't seem to get it back together. The belt as broken,last time my ex sorted it but he as a younger model now so too busy to help. I do try to be independent and do jobs myself but can't seem to work this bit out. Janine.

Shaid Wan I have a link to the belt in the description. You don’t have to buy from there but you can see the details. Kirby made one belt for their upright machines since 1940s. Same belt....

just bought the same belt (301291). However I can't hook up the belt since its too tight. Already tear 1 belt of mine when forcing to turn it

Shaid Wan belts are supposed to be tight but they dont pop. Make sure to put the roller in right way. There is only one belt. That is the belt.

The video was planned for a person who knows NOTHING about belt changing. I can change the belt under 45 seconds myself but then it wouldn't help anyone here. I get some thank you messages cause it helped a lot of people and then some other messages saying it is too long. Hard to make everyone happy :) Long but I hope it helped...
