If you have stuck with rear front paper jam and it does not actually have any piece of paper jammed, clean the ribbon at 9:30

Thank you for this helpful 10 min Video. I was watching it for 4 hours 🙂, because i stuck to klick the new printhead inside the white thin sledge. Perseverance is worth it. Thanks to this video I was able to save a Brother mfc 6510dw.

I just spent at least 4 hours on my Brother MFC6510DW just getting the print head unto that stupid white thin sled. Nothing worked at first but then; I made a sacrifice to GOD, used some dental floss, and copper 14G wire to move the dental floss in place. The dental floss was to pull the bar or bottom of the U shape of the white thin sled towards the front of the printer. If I ever run across the Engineer who designed that white thin sled I will kick him so hard that he will have permanent ball earrings. That white thin sled put the entire job at risk of being a successful completion.

Good video,. However, my head was stuck to the far right and pressing the the Stop/Exit for 5 sec it would not get unstuck, the belt would try to pull it and you can hear the belt teeth screeching and slipping. Following your video i was able to unmount the head anyway in its far right stuck position, (but i had to remove the whole top black cover first). But i broke part of the head top black plastic in the last step :(. Finally i found the white bracket under the head was stuck to what's under it at the far right which looks like some sort of head cleaner mounted on springs. There is a lot of play on that head cleaner and it probably caught part of the bracket and got stuck. I believe it happened in the past but unstuck itself after a few power up on its own but this time in remained stuck. I see no foreign parts lodged, it's just a loose bad design. Even if I replace the head the bracket probably going to get stuck again. Bad design, too complex and too many fragile and loose plastic in critical parts. It's built like a toy.

Nice video, camera work could be clearer to see some exact steps. In my case the Print Head is also caught to the far right. I have the Unable to Init. 48 error code. getting the bracket freed is the key, and there has to be some better method of obtaining or overriding the mechanism so it will release. Rest while plastic and could be better built works fine.

Update on my previous post. Very odd thing. I dissassembled the head a second time and remounted it and this time, it slided perfectly no more rattling noise (the white braket is easily mismounted). And the printer printed again without error. I cleaned the encoder tape which is the long plastic film with yellow and black markings. Make sure when you mount the head back that the encoder tape loop runs parallel and do not come together under the head when mounting. but now the pinter only prints printed blank pages. After running the "Clean cycle" from the menu a couple of time, still blank. I searched for other video on how to flush the ink lines if they clogged or dried. I found the cardtridge still has liquid black ink in it. So i bought a clear vynil flex tubing from the pet store they use for aquariums, but the inner diameter was slightly too big, you need 1/8 inch inner diameter. I used rubber to make it tighter. I got a serynge for free from any pharmacy. And used isopropyl alcohol. But then everything went south, the alcohol i was trying to pump into the printer from the ink inlet instead leaked into the printer and back. Fortunately i had put cardboards underneath the printer. But i still managed to ruined a $40 shirt with black ink. That was the final straw. So i decided to abort and cancel this project, not worth the time and money. Will dump this POS product. For anyone trying to do the same, you've been warned. You inkjet printers are a bad choice anyway. They waste about 40-50% of the ink in the cardridge even if you don't print anything, they dump it every week into an internal absorber pad to keep the head from drying up. They end up being more expensive than a laser printer. This is junk obsolete technology, I am going to buy a laser printer and dump this horrible product. It's designed worse than a toy. Plus ink jet is toxic i was having headache just smelling it. And when you see how the back hinges of this brother POS are not even mechanically attached (only the left one is held by electric cables), it's an absolute junk design. I knew this the first time i ever opened it up. I got this printer cheap 2nd hand but it wasted my time. The right decision is to trash it and move on before you get black ink all over. It's not worth it.

hello, sorry to bother you, for a few days my brother-mfc-j6510dw no longer detects the black cartridge, I also tried original cartridges without success and I think it depends on the ink cartridge detection sensor. How can I find the spare part and how can I replace it without causing damage? can you help me? thank you very much Carlo
