I have to agree there's something about old man sweaters; they don't always fit me though, so I've only one. That being said, it zips up and has tapered sleeves and waist, and is super warm.

YES! Thrift restrictions, I am trying this same thing. I also (idk if you already do this) am making a list on my fridge of things that come to my mind like. " oh I don't really have blank, I should thrift that!" And like some very specific things, like I really want to find a weird old painting or figurine of a dog that looks like mine.

Nice haul! I do think being more discriminating in thrifting is one of the keys to success. I crochet and knit. I've found that thrifted pieces should always be checked over carefully before laundering to make sure all the ends are well knotted/woven in and any loose bits addressed. I'm not above using a dot of fabric glue when appropriate to save an item. I also have found using mesh laundry/lingerie bags helps tremendously to avoid excessive pilling and loosening of joins when machine laundering those pieces. I get them at the dollar store and online retailers for tiny prices. Having an assortment of sizes on hand allows each item its own bag and further protects them from damage. I've even used stout rubber bands to close a pillow case holding a blanket for laundering.
