How do you perceive the world around you? At CPI, we believe that empathy deepens perception. It isn't always easy to be empathetic, but empathy is key to providing the compassionate, person-centered care that everyone deserves.

I would love to see more short videos like this! They work as excellent icebreakers leading into CPI concepts.

I really love this video as, I do know that perceptions can cloud one’s view and another person can be seen in a negative way that is inaccurate. But, as per what I’m learning about narcissism, it can also cloud your view, making you see what’s positive, when it actually isn’t, as well. It is the reason why empathic people often are at the mercy of people with Cluster B personality disorders. Empathic people are often half of the problem as, they don’t know when to leave as situation that will intentionally never improve. That, in addition to culture and society coercing empathic people to do everything they can for someone who is victimizing them. It is important for an empathic person to learn to see the difference. When to engage and when to cut their losses and save their own lives.

I loved this..... will share in my newsletter..... This really shows how violence prevention and de-escalation starts with yourself and your attitude. Great job.

Definitely. We understand completely that people are not their diagnosis, and we believe in person-centered care. For this particular video, we were aiming for the single word theme to get the wheels turning about the hazards of snap judgments. Thanks for your comment! -Becky
