Changing Table Organization on a Budget!: How to organize a changing station 

Hi! as a mom of 4 i would change the drawer with that extra stuff!! extra clothing for the boy instead :) the dummys (i dont know) for my taste they dont belong in the near area where u working with feces like the medicine dropper! thermometer missing that should be nearby sry hope u understand my bad english

Thanks for all your organizing tips. Now I have one for you. Buy a mesh lingerie bag to keep baby's dirty little socks, peepee teepees, mitts, and other small items in. Then when you do laundry, you just zip it up and throw it in the washer & dryer. This way you won't have to worry about losing baby's little items. And this will help you avoid having the washer suck down one of baby's socks into it's inner workings, causing the washer to no longer drain. Yes, I speak from experience. :)

Your set up looks perfect - a dresser is such a great idea. I can't tell you how many times you will need an extra sleeper or outfit because the one you just changed them into is now leaked through with something other than pee. If you have a few outfits right there in the dresser it will be so handy to just reach down, rather than have to carry a naked or poopy leaking baby across the room for a new outfit. Yay to contractions!!!!! :)

you will be surprised how long you use the changing station..I have a 2 and 3 yr old and I use it for them still. I am happy it is sturdy because i can use it later for something else, because it looks like a pc of furniture. You aslo want the changing pad to not move around, because they move a lot as they get older. Just FYI for you. I love your vids

I bet you are so excited. Please remember that as Carson grows he will roll and I doubt you would ever turn away for a second but things do happen so I would suggest finding some kind of rail that can be taken down later to make sure he never falls or rolls off.

put a rubberised shelf liner under the changing pad. leading cause of infant accidents they move so much and dont want you to go thru that. those pads wont clean poo well use paper towels thick. god luck with him you will make a great mom. wet.

Incredibly organised! I had NO idea what stuff I would need and only really had nappies and some wipes - no change table (and I really needed one). Best of luck with the birth - sounds like it will be very soon!

We used an ottoman as a changing "table". It was huge so we were able to use it for quite a awhile. I put a water proof, cloth pad on top and it worked perfectly.

Takes me back to when my twins were born! My daughter wore preemie diapers for awhile and looking at those diapers now, they are TINY! Best of luck with the delivery!

It would be great to have the following close by also. A small hand towel for MOM. - Been there... :) A outfit for Carson. - diapers sometimes have leaks.

My baby boy just turned a month old and I can say you will need both those top drawers for just diapers or you are going to be refilling the drawers all the time 😂 he would go through all those diapers in like a day haha.

may i sugesst if you havent already putting a lined cover underneath the changing table cover so you wont need to wash the changing table mat itself

If u have an automen {spelled it wrong lol} u can use that as a changing station too!! Inside u can store diapers n aquaphors n baby powder lol

I wish I hadn't spent the money on a change table...a dresser is a better investment indeed!

Don't buy the Target Baby Wipes (. I Love Target but not the Wipes ) the Walmart Brand are Thick & very Good like Hugies Brand BUT Cheaper

those sample packs (creams and wipes) are great for your purse and/or diaper bag when you don't need to lug around a large tube/tub.

Ikea has a changing table that can be used for a long time because it converts into a normal dresser. It looks nice too. I recommend that changing table if anyone’s looking for one :) i think it’s called the sundvik or smthing

I hope you didn't buy too many newborn diapers. My son went into 3-6 month clothes at 1 week. He was big but not fat.

My daughter in law used the changing station on a dresser for over 2years. A place to bring Katelyn after bath etc.

i think the diaper trash can should be on the side of the changing pad so that way its closer to you when you're changing your baby's diaper

where do you keep your refills & the for the Diaper Genie? on top of the hutch in some cute bins is a good idea

Awesome video!! I'm pregnant with my 4th boy lol!! Not sure if you've tried the wipes yet, for wiping down the counters or your own hands, but I prefer Huggies over Pampers. Pampers always leave a very wet, slow drying film on babies bottom lol. Huggies dries faster and doesn't feel as wet. Just a heads up :) But I prefer Pampers diapers over Huggies lol. Your preference, but thought you'd like to do a feel test before you use them on your little one :)

I never used a changing table, but your set up is better organized and useful than actual changing tables. Very stylish too!

Store your wipes upside down and the moisture will stay with those that you get out xxx

Great idea! I have a feeling you won't be using the basket for long, though. With a large stock of wipes and diapers in the top drawers, you won't have to keep refilling the little basket since it only holds a day or 2 worth of diapers anyway, you can just reach at hip level where the drawer is for everything you need. NO BENDING yay!!

That is almost exactly like the way I have our changing table set up. We are also using the top of the dresser. We put a non slip mat down underneath the pad. I have an adorable wicker basket next to it with a little of everything I need/use. Then in the top middle drawer I put the extra diapers and wipes. I have been doing this for 3 years now and just love it. I keep the spare/extras in our hall lien closet with a safety door handle.

I'm a germaphobe, so I know this is over the top. Just a sugestion :) : The dollar store bins have been handled by tons of people with little packaging. A good wash would do them some good. You might have already done this, so pardon me if you did :) By the way, I LOVE your organizing videos! They are so practical and you explain things really simply! Thanks for starting this channel, it's one of my favorites :)

You need one of those rubberized pads under that changing cushion so it won't slide around. You could use a piece of that stuff you put under rugs so they don't slip. I never had a changing table... Just a basket and a pad for the floor. Never missed the whole official changing table. Good for you for multitasking a dresser top!

So, I did the medicine closet and my bathroom cabinets today using many of your ideas, including the tape laminated labels! It looks so freakin' gorgeous, and now when the grandparents are here watching my toddler for baby #2's birth, they can find everything they might need. So thanks.

Cloth diapering saves about 2,000 dollars.

We did the same thing for a changing table! Still works great at 8 months. Praying you have a safe birth. Btw, the peepee tepees never worked for us. My lil guy rolled and still rolls around too much.

thank you for sharing that wipes are not good for newborns. I didn't know that and I am setting up a friend's diaper station today! I will get some cotton rounds and spring water in a BPA free spray bottle. It is so wonderful that we have this platform to share and learn and share, and learn!

I really like the idea of the dresser as a changing table. It's true, you only use it for a year or two and it does take up room. I love how you organized everything. Dollar Tree does have the best storage items! I hope Carson makes his adorable appearance soon! :)

So nice. Thanks. We are also just using a changing pad ontop of a set of drawers. It looks good :-) we just put 2 shelves above it on the wall for creams and diapers.

Love it! Also if you need to buy wipes and don't have a coupon:), the parent's choice, walmart brand is my fave. I'd choose those over the name brands, they are thicker and nicer in general.

Would love to know how you got some samples of desitin. I really want to be able to coupon. I’m pregnant with my third i will have my oldest will be 3 when this baby is born. So anything to save money! Lol

I would really recommend using clothwipes and warm water for all future changings. My son is almost 2 and I always do it. Whenever I use wipes he gets red....

Those pads that are lined on one side that you said you would put on your changing pad.......when my kids were small I had those (or similar) and I would lay those "pads" on their crib and lay my baby over them ......so when they would burp up milk or if the diaper was "maxed out" .....I wasn't constantly washing crib sheets

Oh I wanted to tell you in your how you organize your car where you have the box in the back I use it for my daughters toys so there not all over my car

Walmart brand wipes are great too but I like using pampers wipes for the first month just to be sure he won't get irritated.

I'd switch the trash can and the diaper genie so you don't have to stop away from Carson if you are disposing his dirty diaper.

I didn't use my changing table at all really, always preferred to use the floor funnily enough.

Looks really good :) this kind of changingtabel is fine in the beginning - until you have a older baby who moves around a lot :)
