Great video. Well done! But a minor comment on terminology: The RAF March Past ,officially called the RCAF March Past has been the official march of the RCAF since 1943. As the RNZAF March Past it fills the same function in New Zealand.
Military Events When I was in the RAF in the 1960s I never knew it used in slow time. Now, it seems nearly always to be used in that way, whether by the RAF, RCAF or RNZAF.
why only the RCAF go to change of the guard? Why not the Royal Canadian Navy or the Royal Canadian Army? Thank you. Again, l like the songs, especially the RAF March, we do that in our air cadets squadron!
This RCAF honour was part of the centenary celebrations for the RAF. The RCAF and RAF have a long history together. While the RCN has never mounted the Queen's (or King's) Guard, the much older Royal Navy has only mounted it twice, in 2017 and again in Novermber 2019. There is no Royal Canadian Army, any more than there is a Royal British Army. It is just the Canadian Army. Any royal honours are held by the individual regiments. Canadian Army regiments and units have mounted the Guard many times over the last century. The first was the 117th Battalion, CEF, in 1916 and the most recent was the Royal Canadian Regiment in November 2018. The "RAF March Past" when performed by the RCAF is officially known as the "RCAF March Past", as authorized in 1943 under the authority of HM KIng George VI.
My ears thoroughly enjoyed that opening bit where the trombones and tuba were separated from the rest of the band. all I could here was pure Bwomp-BwOmp-Bwomp. It was pure bliss
El'amin mochichi Ew, Americans. Nope, to bad. They decided to break off from the great empire and had no loyalty. Canadians died in hundreds of thousands for the empire and was the first to answer the call. Begone
Well, no, because the Queen is not their Head of State, whereas she is the Head of State of the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and a number of other countries all over the World.
