@@xxxmancity1894xxx Honestly that does not seem to be healthy. All similar military units have friendly rivalry, though it is supposed to be friendly, mind you.
You are correct there are women guards which is not limited to the band's and in regards to Mr Griffiths you don't even notice them in fact you can't even tell (unless you are "know" military.
Being in the armed services of any country is something to be proud off, respect discipline and a unique sense of pride! And I'd be proud standing there and watching this. The bands are excellent, the ta ra ra makes you stand six inches in your collar, proud to have armed services like these.
GameBros Ⓡ They aren’t veterans, not sure where you read that. They’re all serving British Army soldiers, got nothing to do with SAS or Intelligence Agencies.
@@MegaTamer111 what the hell are you talking about, there young fully trained soldiers who have served our country in battle zones you idiot. Do you understand this is their regiment there marching in dressed in there ceremonial uniform. For God's sake do some research before you write a load of crap about something you obviously have no idea about.
@Thomas Gardiner Because most of them are idiot tourists who have no idea that these young men and woman are fully trained members of the British Armed Services.
I was here on Christmas Eve years ago. It was absolutely magical. Wonderful concert of Christmas music and all of the very British pomp and ceremony one could wish for. Top of my list of best travel experiences. Brilliant! Extraordinary! Cheers and Merry Christmas to the Queen, her family and our friends in GB!
So I am so glad that you enjoyed your visit to my home city I adore living here and I hope that you will come back and see us real soon."Hugs from London"
@@ianrobertson5798 Thanks! I have been - several times since that Changing of the Guard experience. My sister is handicapped and uses a mobility scooter - we had the most wonderful experience visiting the Queen’s Gallery, then touring The Buck. They let her tootle all around both on her scooter. I was a complete wreck. She’s a wild thing on that scooter. I mean - what could possibly go wrong?!? Right? We actually came face-to-face with the Princess Royal as she was stepping out a door and into her chauffeured car! I didn’t know what else to do, so I, an American, popped a pretty respectable curtesy! She smiled and waved. We still can’t believe that really happened!
Boi at 3:05 when the guard nearly fell and those women laughed at them, I actually felt like buying a ticket to London to slap them. Marching is already difficult enough. Plus the Royal Guards have to Stand up Straight in any weather for 10+ hours. Plus there are literally puddles on the ground, so YES it is slippery. Mad Props on not falling on his face like I would have in that situation. He handled it like a boss.
Why is that dumb broad laughing in the first place? He recovered from a slip standing straight up with good posture. It looked he glided forward. That broad would probably fall on her stupid face.
@@broman2084, you should try them on marble flooring.... no chance of a tight turn, trust me. ** remembers facing the direction I turned as I continued in the direction I was originally travelling...**
I think a lot of people think they are just ceremonial and not “real” soldiers, I saw a comment once that they couldn’t hurt a fly and their guns were just for show, people from other countries don’t realise that they are highly trained soldiers
Paddy Zammit Agree, finally a person with respect and brain. Good sir. People these days think everything is for "show" and doesn't realise that these great souls are here to protect their civilians. Have a lovely day!
Paddy Zammit: Agreed - the world is full of ignorant people; and those tourists who have such a bloated opinion of themselves in thinking this is all for their benefit are the worst of the lot.
@@ady9830 Most of the spectators are foreign tourists, so it's not very well directed propaganda if the idea is to encourage British patriotism. "Great" Britain is distinguished from "Little Britain", ie Brittany.
@@ady9830 Dammit, you're right. Now I come to think of it, there's Great Dunmow and Little Dunmow, Great Tew and Little Tew - bloody oppressive elites everywhere.
Mohammed ali gabhrani. All except the creepy trumpet player in the life guards unit that is looking around. (By the police man by the gate at 4 minutes)
Girls laughing because one of the guards nearly slipped you do realise how hard it is to march tithe them boots on and even worse in the wet weather they have metal plates underneath to make that awsome sound when they march
imagine not respecting one of the longest lasting indigenous european traditions. people like you are so annoying, you don't say this shit about my Maori ancestors but you think its cool to shit all over english culture and their ancestors. nobody regards the queen in that way, nobody thinks shes immortal, its tradition.
I bet back in the day when this was an actual show of force rather than the ceremony it is today, people got hurt for laughing or heckling...these guys all impress the shit out me, I’m an American.
I wish people would stop laughing at them, they are highly trained soldiers and there jobs are nothing to laugh at.And people trying to get them to move or smile is just down right childish.
If I ever get to visit England, I will make it a point to march up to a guard, halt in front of him or her, stand at attention and say thank you job well done! Do an about turn and march away again.
The amazing thing is that the other half of their life is serving on the front lines as regular infantry, laughing at them slipping on a slippery surface is nothing but disrespectful. Some of them have seen things you can't even imagine and they just stand there getting mocked when on guard duty.
My father enlisted in the Grenadier Guards in Nov 1939 & was demobbed in May1946. He was very proud of have been a Guardsman, I used to watch with amusement on the occasions when he met by chance another of his kind also wearing the Brigade of Guards or Regimental ties, which was usually how they knew each other. No matter about differences in age or background, it was like some sort of secret society from which we mere mortals were excluded.
That happened to my father in law, someone came up to him, shook his hand and started going on about the regiment, he's going "what are you on about", and the bloke says "regimental tie" and my father in law goes "this? I got it from M&S!" My, how we laughed...he's the last person you'd expect to have been in the forces. And he wasn't.
ICECREAMK1NG1 You are not alone being British is one of my favourite things... Idk, but I sure do like it (I go to the changing of the guards when I can)
So disrespectful and childish to laugh at an immaculately trained trooper who accidentally slipped, even though the sole of his boot was metal, it's hard..
c'mon dude have a sense of humour, i love these guards but like it's not like she's laughing at their uniform it's just it's silly that he almost slipped. Have a little sense of humour eh?
@spitfire Let's laugh when you nearly make an error at your occupation. Are you on display? He didn't even fall. I'd love to see you shovel snow from a driveway without falling. That should be your career, you deadbeat. While everybody watches. Good sense of humor.
Youre taking this seriously, i didnt insult them or call them clowns infact i listen to some british march like birdcage walk and namur march but you obviously take everything seriously. Go outside dude.

Well said Malcolm! I’m British through and through and proud of it. Proud to be a Royalist and proud of our Great Country. That’s why so many people want to come here and live.👍👏
@@chandranipaul2597, Please elaborate. The version of the story that I had from a Guards publication was that it was written by Mozart as a child, while staying at St James's Palace. He gave a copy to the Band Master of the Coldstream Guards and they have played it ever since. Many years later, When Figaro opened in London, people recognised the march as that which the Coldstream Guards played.
@@sebastianwheeler384 I am sorry, Sebastian. I don't know what it is. I have tried a few leads and have nor discovered. Maybe someone will identify it.
What is so funny about a Soldier slipping it really funny I get it that sometimes when we see someone slip it is a bit funny but you do know Soldiers boots have a metal plate underneath and when they walk on Cobblestone they will lose their footing and when my dad was in the army he slipped on Cobblestone but he managed to Stop himself from falling to floor
I love people that think a misstep in slow time is funny (try it yourself with full kit) but what the silly person didn't realise is that soldier did exactly what he is supposed to keep going don't make an issue even when some hyena was laughing at you! these are very professional soldiers that deserve respect so shut your gob and appreciate that level of professionalism. A soldier would appreciate how easily you can get out of step or trip while swinging arms with a weapon shouldered or drawn sword, send him a beer for putting on a show for you or say thank you next day of remembrance.....god people disrespect our service people and veterans makes me angry. IF you want a laugh hyena should have watched us in recruits marching to breakfast you would have seen change steps, trips and such but dont laugh at a professional soldier jerk!!
La fidelidad hacia sus tradiciones, .hacen que Inglaterra y su pueblo sean admirados, una muestra de ello es el cambio de guardia del Palacio de Buckingham
Rob Tro You are correct and worse in winter. The soles would harden and become very slippery. But you know the boots have been improved for Canadian cadets.

People really don't understand that although this kind of ceremony is laughable to us, it was as normal as the 6 o'clock news in its day. Tradition shows us how far we've come

Mr Who they aren't. they did it for hundreds of years. it happened even during WW1 and WW2. they did this pompous ceremony when london didn't really have "tourists"
