In this video I show you how I change the in-cabin air filter in my 2004 Nissan Pathfinder Armada. In the 2004 model year, Nissan called the Armada the Pathfinder Armada to trade on the established Pathfinder name. For this model year, you have to remove the entire glove box assembly to get to the filter housing. It's not difficult to do and by following the steps in the video anyone with basic mechanical skills can tackle this task themselves, saving money versus having the dealer perform the task, and having a better understanding of how their vehicle is put together and works.
For this task you'll need a Philips screwdriver (I used a power screwdriver), an 8mm socket and driver (you may need an extension if you use a ratchet), and a new filter.
I use the Pentius PHB5850, which is readily available on-line for under $15.00 (for a pair of filters). Some sites show this filter as NOT compatible with my SUV. It certainly does fit just fine.
Pentius lists these filters as replacements for one another:
FRAM CF10388
Wix 24854
Champ CAF1804P
Purolator C15850
Please be sure to look up your vehicle's compatible parts yourself.
Comments are welcome. Keep it civil and helpful, please.
