Changing the swim pattern on a darter, can we make it better!? 

When using a slow retrieve I notices my darters with flags were not moving very well. I mainly just use one large treble hook on the belly. Good action and makes it super easy to handle fish and release.

They all swam well .... Fish on

I fished mine with single belly 3/0 and flag on back , I feel like the action with two trebles is better overall but single belly treble is safer for the fish and easier for us , inline hooks drop too many fish so I won’t use them , but I also fish fast too bad for inline hooks but good for treble

Trebles are destroying these fish. Singles; barbs crushed.

You left out the other advantage of the single hook, much less likely to bend out, heavy fish has much less leverage than on a treble
