It’s awesome that bait is made in my hometown. It is truly the best stink bait I’ve ever used. A little background on the new name. Sonny Hootman who is the original owner of the bait sold the business to his son’s which their names all start with “S” and that’s where the “triple s” name comes from. Same recipe and everything and it’s made in the same building it’s always been made in.
I have some thats 4 yrs old and still works great, not dried out. Brother in law caught a 34 pound blue on it a couple yrs ago. but yes, usually just pan to 5 pound fish. Been using Sonny's only for over 20 yrs.
Used some of that at Santee this year and caught the heck out of channel cats also caught a few blues over 10 with it also !! We rigged ours with the "pop-corn "white Styrofoam that's used for packing stuff to ship. Works great
Great video. We made it to Summerville from Japan a couple days ago so we are all jet lagged. My daughter just later down next to me and wanted to watch. Keep em coming!!!
I used Sonnys blood for years . The best I found. I kept a coke bottle of used fish frying oil in boat to thin it if necessary. You can also use the used fish oil to refresh it when it dries out. Arkansas bues will bite it only in hot summer. Not sure why. Now that is n Santee Cooper lakes. I also quit with treble hooks and opted for eagle claw # 6 short shank hook. Never caught anything over 30lbs. Good stuff hard to get used to though.
Get you some.... catfish Charlie's shad......that's the bomb....caught 75 channel catfish.....down in Lake Moultrie ....off of the bank ....made up some chum using.....soured cracked corn.....and i catch blues and channels in the Tennessee river
When your bait gets too solid on you, add a little vegetable oil and mix it with the stick till it gets creamy like peanut butter. That's all you need to do. It never goes bad. And if it gets too runny on you on really hot days, add a little cornstarch and mix it into thicken it up.
You know I've seen that stuff a long time ago and always wondered if it really works. I'll start off with the cup. Who all carries it?Thanks BP for sharing. Enjoyed the video.
Works good in creeks/rivers, have seen it work in ponds but rarely there. Typically Channel catfish will hit it, but have caught Blue cat and turtles on it.
Them road signs make great dog box lids/bottoms. Always have. Almost caught a grand theft charge for one them down here in the panhandle of Florida bout '98.
This is made in my home town Farmington Iowa Sony gave the company to his kids. And it's made with aged rotten cheese and what not the blood mix is made with pigs blood.
1st trip with Triple S and I filled a 48 quart cooler with channel cats. Triple S is the real deal, get you some if you want to catch a mess of channel cats.
Take a dollar store pool swim noodle and cut 1 in slice and cut in to 4 pieces. use a 24 in leader with a swivel 1 onuce sinker, 8/0 hook with and piece of noodle soaked in Sonny's. The noodle holds it out the bottom.
Been using the same stuff same brand for my whole life if it dries out add vegetable oil dead serious big pensel that's what they recommend and it has never let me down
You need to cherish and take care of the rest of that tub of nasty stuff, Its 42.95 now on Amazon, but you do get free shipping at that price thou.....Im going to see if I can find it cheaper. Keep up the good videos!!
Pensel, here in South Carolina, if you use that Team Catfish "secret 7". You will catch every channel cat ion the river. It aint but $7 a tub at Academy or Cabelas. Try I out, I use it all the time.
Pensel cut them tubes in half and just buy the sponge hooks or go even cheaper and buy trebles and some sink sponges cut your own just small squares push the hook eye through the sponge tie a leader on and go but cutt the tubes in half and waste a ton less bait still works just as good as a full tube actually better it's a smaller presentation they tend to like the half tube better
