Hey LSV, after testing out the format for a bit how do you feel about fiery emancipation and the new Teferi? I feel like those 2 cards were criminally underrated the set review as they both are potentially game winning cards on their own. I understand that teferi doesn't really have a permanent way to protect itself, but the ability to loot twice every turn cycle while blanking their best creature about every other turn has to be good enough for just 4 mana right? I've been a long time viewer of LR and am super grateful for all of your limited videos! Keep up the great work!
@@raveendranathchoutapalli4372 I had Teferi the last draft I did, and while two of the times I played it it died immediately (and the second time was probably entirely my fault for playing it too early), I'm pretty sure it won me the game the other two times I had it. Card's good when its +1 doesn't read "mill 1".
I was really hyped when I saw the video pop up. LSV drafting is always so enjoyable and insightful. And you delivered, great explanations and plays. I even enjoy rewatching your old drafts and would love to see more "solo" videos, although the stream is great, too.
The information LSV gives reminds me a lot of LegenVD. I hope you guys keep doing this. This will be one of the best contents you guys put out guaranteed
Thanks a lot lsv, your content really finds a great balance between entertaining and educational. Thank you for taking the time to make a video for all of us for free!
I hate those kind of people so much lol. Unless a player just constantly forgets about a trigger they have on board holding priority, the emote is toxic like 99% of the times lol
I agree with you on the Solemn art, but there is a reason for it. Not sure if anyone mentioned it already but it's pretty obvious it's the Phyrexian art because we're going back to Phyrexia soon. It's not just a random art choice.
I like the gruul here, drafted a similar deck before watching, the curve can be real painful if your going for ferocious, but unless they are aggro and go off, it's awesome :p
I’ve noticed that Bo1 draft on Arena has a much higher quality of players than Bo3. I think better players are drawn toward ranked. Anyway great video!
Literally was about to say that. LSVs deck was so slow and he was only punished once. I feel like every time I don't go 2 drop, 3 drop, 4 drop, I lose because every opponent I get has well over triple the IQ of LSVs opponents and never bricks...
I was just thinking the same thing, and came to articulate something about it. I’m a yearling magic player/drafter and I’ve watched/listened to non stop content since the obsession started and Luis is hands down my favorite person to watch play and learn from. And there are so many great content creators too, but he feels more like sitting down with an old friend to learn. I wish I could stomach mtgo and understood cube better cuz I bet it’s a similar experience!
When you had only 1 two drop you twice completly ignored two mana 2/1 with minor upside. I would have probably taken them just to have something to play early and possibly combo with Havoc Jester
If neither the format nor your deck is super-aggro you don't necessarily want early drops. 1/3 spider would be reasonable here to gain some time, but that 2/1 devil has nothing to do in this deck.
Love LSV playing the colors I like rather than so much blue. He's my favorite to watch, but his color preferences leave me less happy than I would otherwise be. This one was super enjoyable despite being on Arena. What the hell is with the fox thing on the screen?
I'm confused about taking the B/R gold card with no intention of playing it over a strong red 2 drop in Hobblefiend in pack 3 with a Havoc Jester in the deck and no sac outlets. I can only assume he didn't see it?
@@ChannelFireball Fair. Just thought given your curve and being on-colour made it more likely to make the deck, and I've had good experiences with the card so far even without strong sac synergies.
@@adamcortens4781 I agree with at least grabbing it for the sideboard. If you play against an aggressive deck, having a two-drop in the board to trade could be awesome.
Had one of those moments in R2G2 where I was shouting at my screen. Could have had an extra 4/4 instead of a Portcullis Vine by just playing Furious Rise first. Game still wasn't close but it hurts to see the value getting spewed.
They need to add some animation to reach creatures, or at least remove it from the flying ones, the game lead you to think there are 2 set of attackers/blockers, the ones floating and the ones on the ground, and the devious reach creatures keep crushing unaware players. This impunity need to end!
I think part of it is people are so used to mainly associating reach with spiders combined with MTGA doesn't show card text unless you specifically scroll over it. Ultimately people are still responsible for reading what is in play, but the mistake is generally understandable (though the person in the finals making that mistake multiple times was slightly odd).
