This Modern Cube Draft ended up trapped in the vault. What better time to excavate it than Pro Tour weekend? More MTG: store.channelfireball.com/landing
The fact that the audio and video are slightly out of sync is driving me crazy, every play lags behind the commentary. "Wow fatal push?!" *opponent plays fatal push* *LSV future sight intensifies*
Thomas Kim yeah this is very unfortunate. Hearing the player react to things as yet unseen is disorienting. I have observed that in a lot of these kinds of videos they put the audio just slightly ahead of the video, and I can see how that can actually make for a snappier video, but in this case I think it’s by a little too much.
The thing is you actually see things happening in the gamelog before they happen on the battlefield. I don't think this was the case here but it explains why it seems like this is happening in close to every vide.
I've watched several drafts now and I love how every single time LSV seems surprised by at least a couple wheels and the colors that people snatch up in comparison to him.
You can hear the background of him drafting some other cube. With [[High Tide]] in the deck. But there is something else there too. Like theme/opening music to a TV show or video. But that is less consistent to the commentary of another draft. I'm not sure but I feel like I hear another person's voice in it as well but I could be wrong or it could be another layer. Sounds like something that happened with multiple audio files while editing.
In the last game you misread Gideon Jura's ability - it says "during target opponent's NEXT turn", not "until YOUR next turn", which means that on your extra turn you could have kept Baral back and pointed the looter at your opponent. Obviously it didn't matter, but it could have if you hadn't snowballed so hard.
From around 47:00 to 49:00 (and probably longer, but that's when I came down to comment), the same audio is looping about considering Careful Study, something about High Tide, and Cloudskate. It's not that big of a deal, but it is mildly distracting.
Nick Hennessey the way CFB try to make themselves more professional and mould into a company kind of makes it not good enough IMO. Love LSV to death but the audio out of sync in tandem with the background chit chat just disappoints me.
My favorite part was when he decided to fight monowhite by drafting storm in vintage cube, did you wheel the careful study? Edit: he did wheel careful study, that’s good for him.
I think watery grave was a better pick because of the light number of blue players censor probably would will and then u have a decent black splash for lingering souls and the silly dragon later
Lol, what's up with the Elesh Norn thumbnail? Was that a bit of a troll? After all you normally pass the card up while saying it's a good card. This time because of the thumbnail I was wondering if it was somehow going to fit into your deck in the second or third pack, but no spicy Elesh cigar, hahahaha.
The worst part, and honestly the only part I don't like, about having longer videos is having them get progressively further and further off when the audio isn't totally synced
