Next week my wife and I are moving to Southern California - north of Los Angeles to be closer to family and friends. We grew up in California and left 50+ years ago. I will return to making videos after we are settled - in a few months. They will blend old-school hiking and camping with the newest video technology including 360 degree cameras.
In the 1960s, my twin, Russel and I did not camp in tents or hammocks, but rather slept directly on the ground, bivouac style. We wore heavy boots and canvas leggings, to protect against cactus thorns and rattlesnakes. I look forward to camping this was again, since this style camping is well suited to warm, dry climates. Stay tuned for future videos. I’ve attached one of my videos from a few years ago, about adapting old-school bivouac camping to the 21st century. Enjoy.
