Chanos on Mallinckrodt, Express Scripts, Tesla and China 

You gotta take the mistakes as well as t good calls. Yeah he called our Mallinckrodt, but he's been wrong on many other stocks. Especially Tesla. He's been short Tesla a long time and the price would need to fall 75% from current levels just for Jim to break even. Depending on how he has structured his hedges, it may never be profitable unless he increases exposure today. If you look at the short interest in $TSLA today vs total realized losses by short covering, they amount lost is greater than total short interest. So even if the stock went to $0 today, as a whole, short sellers would still have a net loss. Of course if the stock price declines slowly, or if you're playing with options, then you could still net out a profit. But no matter how you look at it, Jim has under performed the market for 2 decades. 2019 was one of the best years for Kynikos in YEARS, and yet still under performed the market. Over the long term, it's pretty clear that he doesn't actually know how to make money in the market. He's damned good at making money in client fees though. He's done a great job moving money from his investor's pockets to his own. Mad respect for this ability.
