Absolutely! Without a doubt! It's crazy enough that Johnny Maestro and his two groups were also left out, but not inducting The Chantels is just a sin!!
Man..open the gates of my heart ..those days aint gone...no way...they live on in our hearts and souls. Yolanda..COME HOME...my darling, please...come home...i need you so....
I must say that the beautiful Amy Ortiz has a very lovely voice! Also, Renee White has a nice style when she did her part in "The Plea". Bottom line is this: The Chantels are FABULOUS⚠️
The Plea is just wonderful by both the Chantels and the Jesters. 34:02. The lead, when she switches to her natural voice, is out of this world fantastic.
Seeing them in person is something I would treasure. I hope they are still preforming, if so I will go wherever to see them. They are fantastic and so personable. What a lucky group of people in that audience.
My Mom and Pops got together young I see pictures of the partying they used to have every one dancing and drinking together they had live bands no DJs just 45s albums an live bands they mom was 18 and pop was 20 in 1968 They ended up divorced in the early 80s I remember growing up with music such as Chantel’s Supremes Rosie and the Original Shirilles Sam the sham. An the Pharos The kingsmen I layed pop to rest before Halloween my mom is remarried an doing good 👍 precious memories I’m in my 50s now my kids hear this great music
@@s.rosesmith6525 thats not true. Arlene was never on drugs! she left the group way back in 1960 to go on her own. She performed for many years with her own group of Chantels and in recent years did several special guest appearances with the original group. She retired from performing about 7 years ago due to health issues
I'm glad someone stated the Chantels names in order. I was wondering which one was Jackie since I had never seen her. God Bless Her soul and may she rest in peace!
@@victorcontreras9138 How could they be the original Chantels when your missing Arlene Smith and following Arlene as lead vocal was Annette Smith(No relation to Arlene)
@@victorcontreras9138 Jackie was extremely beautiful in my eyes and could harmonize with the best of them. I could be wrong but I think she sang the baritone. No matter what part she sang, what a loss losing her was! RIP, Sweet Jackie.
@@lajas46 At the time this show was recorded, 40 years had already passed, and they were in their 50's. They still had 4 of the 5 original members, and their sound was still incredibly gorgeous! I don't understand why that bothers you so. Isn't their singing still out-of-this-world beautiful to your ears?
@@lindadee2053 Yes, I truly agree! Jackie was one I wasn't familiar with as I wasn't tuned in with the group when she was around. Now, I realize how outstanding the Chantels were by being so young and talented. Thanks for your opinion👌
@@lindadee2053 hi linda Arlene Smith is my all time favorite female singers & met her several times in person had a great time. This is not Arlene on lead. It was a Sandra Dawn only sang on 2 songs after Arlene left the Chantels. Sorry to disappoint.
