Like the Hi-Lo's! and Singers Unlimited, these guys are the end of how good a cappella singing can be. It ain't sparkling outfits and dance routines. It's absolutely perfect pitch centers, control, range, power, and sheer force of will. This is as good as it gets.
FUCKING AMAZING. dear god i got chills and that progression at the end leading up to the ending was absolutely beautiful and left a gigantic smile on my face. freddie would be proud
i guess im asking randomly but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the password. I love any help you can give me.
@Denver Brennan thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im trying it out atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I listened to this recording a few times a couple months ago. I've listened to many other Chanticleer recordings by this time and have heard (what I'm assuming) is the full range that many of these countertenors can sing. I thought it was really cool to come back and listen to this recording again and hear some of the countertenors sing in their normal tenor/baritone ranges (like the solo at 2:50) and then switch later on to the line of music that would typically be sung by a female. It's awesome to experience the full range of many of these great men. May their voices live on forever in their beautiful singing.
Bloody hell - they are amazingly good - Paul Canedo - I agree about the little coda , I wondered how they were going to end it and that was just perfect . Cheers from Sydenham
😮 ❤ My favourite parts are 3:20 love how they went from pianisimo to forte, and 4:20 Sorry but I had to curse at how high the tenor's voice went. 😮 Freddie would be smiling at how his song was sang.
Funny thing is Freddie Mercury was a recording genius. Normally it would have taken all those men to sing each and every part of the final recording. But Freddie over dubbed with track after track and came up with what sounds like a choir of men from baritone to counter tenor. I wished they ended their piece with the counter tenor singing the high final-(that was originally sung by the drummer Roger Taylor)... Excellent rendition though.
A humble reminder: this was recorded in real time, one location, mixed expertly, but sung LIVE. Let's not forget the texture of voices blending in real time!! This is moving on SO MANY levels. (Moment 3:17-:20 was exquisite!!!)
Just listened to this for the first time, and my life has forever been changed... also, I now have a serious admiration for the Bass.. for his voice, and his epic facial hair..
how the hell they were able to hit perfectly every note in that very abstract ending CODA? fucking amazing!!! one of the view good things to find in youtube nowadays
WOW this is a switch for you guys, love it! Hope you guys come back to Richmond again soon, your Christmas concert was incredible. I had been waiting for 20 years to hear Ave Maria again in person.
