I'm not Jewish but have Jewish in-laws and I LOVE these songs. I listen to them every year at this time over and over. Happy Chanukah, Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to everyone!!! : )
I'm not Jewish but I have all 3 previous versions of "The Chanukah Song" and they are the first things I listen to when it's time to ring in the holiday season! I love them so much! What a gift that there is a 4th version -- and here's hoping for number 5...
I grew up in a (relatively) non practicing Catholic family and went to public, non religious elementary school, though most were Christian. There was one student in my school who was Jewish. Every year during Chanukkah she would bring in dreidels, gelt, latkes (and some other food I believe, though I can't remember anything else in particular). We would all learn how to play dreidel and other traditional jewish activities. I have always been in other cultures and am glad that I got to experience that in my youth. Wishing a happy Chanukkah to all of my Jewish friends out their! 🕎✡

All four parts are on my holiday playlist that I listen to every year! It's amazing how each one captures the spirit of the times in which they were written. It would be interesting to get a COVID Chanukah Song.

+Enas Perastik WTF, the Greeks banned all Jewish religion and customs, and wanted all Jews to just "Be Greek- Like". Most Jews went along with it actually, eager to join Hellenistic society. Just a small band of Jews, the Maccabees, fought....26 years they fought, and won. Celebrating the right to be Jewish! Celebrating cultural Diversity!

I like Adam bc he's fully human. He doesn't always make me laugh but this performance was darn good and he always makes me think (better than most of the teachers I've had). I mean, who can make the Jared debacle funny? I'm also always watching him for his creative and honest channeling of his anger issues. It's genuine and for that I give him an A+ (Common core is the shiznit!)

@@OnkelStein It's not prayer that works, it's God, who works, and answers prayers wich are in line with His will. He's got the right to select. Or else He would not be God anymore, but people. Logically apparent, isn't it? Trust me, He hears when you pray! Just try. And yes the world looks different...
@ Thinking that you have a personal relationship with the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE and that he answers your prayers must be the least humble and most arrogant stance one can make. "..answers prayers which are in line with Gods will"? What about the divine plan? If your god really is all-knowing, his plan is already perfect and set in stone. But somehow, you think you can make wishes which he will grant that go against this plan. How fucking arrogant can you be?? Your god watches children starve to death everyday, and does nothing. If he can't remove evil, he's not omnipotent. If he can remove evil, but chooses not to, he himself is evil. Or it could just be made up, like all the other gods humanity has believed in.
I love this guy and so does my kids. He may not be everyone's favorite but we're huge fans!!! I love this and all the others and were not ever Jewish. I have so much respect for this guy.

Best version of the song so far ! The importance of this song cannot be understated, I think. In just under four minutes Adam Sandler has given Jews reasons to be proud, including : that jews are fun/ have a sense of humour, have contributed to the worlds culture, and have even contributed to solving world problems, while recognizing they are not perfect. Awesome. By the way.. no mention of Einstein so far. Hopefully he'll show up in Part 5.
The simplicity in the comedy (he is just listing off names) is genius. This never gets old and I always crack up even if I know the punchlines. Thanks for sharing!

The guy is undeniably brilliant. Corny of course but an amazing talent from comedy to drama to music, he's the real deal. Range like Robin Williams too from Mrs. Doubtfire to Good Will Hunting the same with Sandler in Billy Madison and Reign Over Me and Uncut Gems. Brilliant.
