I loved the song on the first listen and the video was way beyond my expectations.

I personally agree with Andy’s overall assessment. I also think leaving out the “abuse you” section was a wise and considered creative decision. Thanks Paul for pushing this project forward and making it reality for all of us.

I think it is a brilliant piece of work. I am really impressed and I wasn't expecting to be. I think a lot of love and care has been put into this record and it is a beautiful way to finish. Enjoy!

The mix is a little cluttered/compressed, but that's a minor critique...This is a very interesting and emotional song, John's voice sounds cool, and the instrumental parts are all fantastic.

We mostly all LOVE the new Beatles last single, but after hearing the orchestra in the documentary, would have been nice to fade the song with the orchestra slowly up to the front in volume, with Pauls bass, Ringo's drums, etc.. BUT still crazy LOVE the outcome! I wish Ringo would have rerecorded his current sounding drums on Love Me Do. The snare drum in this stereo version is too muffled, but as great as it sounds in stereo, I can't wait to hear She Loves You in stereo.

As someone who was raised in the Beatle era, I consider myself a hardcore fan. And I have no problem with how others feel about this record. But in my opinion I think this was just a last opportunity to pull at the sentimental heartstrings of Beatles fans and milk them for a few more bucks. They knew that if they released this in multiple formats the millions of enthusiasts would justify buying every version for their collection. It's already starting to become a distant memory, similar to what happened to the Anthology releases. And like the Anthology singles, I know that if this was released by any other artist it would be sitting in the turd section of the cutout bin.

I don’t understand why the “i don’t want to loooooose you” part wasn’t included. That was apex of the Lennon demo. There was no killer “Middle 8” that the Beatles are known for.

I think chip might be the most depressing downer of a person that’s ever been on this show.

I think Paul delibararely made the solo a touch underwhelming as a way of saying "I couldn't possibly replace George on slide, but here's a nice tribute". No one would want Mike Campbell or anyone else doing some kind of George imitation.

I really like the song and like it more with each listen. I went back and listened to Free As a Bird and Real Love, and for me Now and Then is much better. I admit that I disliked both those songs when they were released and it took me about 25 years to appreciate them. The demo was still up a few hours ago but I’m in Japan so it might not have been blocked here yet.

Whats wrong with you guys? Dont get it? if Paul wants to play a great slide flashy solo he really can do it, but i am sure he remembers what George says about his flashy bass playing in Something! Now i can bet it , 15:58 we all probably put down Paul for trying to be greater than George! And whats wrong with the orchestra? Put it that way, why George Martin put it in A day in the life, or in Eleanor Rigby or Something or in ....The End! To pick up some tears?!!!!! When the people want to put down a song they get it even with stupid arguments!...well for the end Now and then is a masterpiece, who says different knows zero about music!

Despite being a great song with beautiful production, it doesn't sit well with me as a Beatles song. George didn't directly contribute and his presence can't be felt. The drumming doesn't sound like signature Ringo. Normally he's more subtle. Unlike the two 1995 songs, Now and Then sounds more like a band trying hard to sound like the Beatles, producing a fantastic product, but you know it's just not them. I would have supported this being on a 3-song EP with Free As A Bird and Real Love being remastered the same way to fix John's vocals. Admittedly, it is a nice send-off. But it should NOT be on the Blue album -- that's just a cash grab. And that awful cover! I was hoping the 10-minute Photoshop job was just a placeholder until the awesome sleeve was revealed on release day. What an atrocious end to the band's history as visual arts pioneers.

George played acoustic and electric guitar on the song in 1995. And the strings echo and respond to his rhythm guitar part. Those three facts amount to a lot more contribution by George than to several 60s Beatles songs, where he only played one part or wasn't on the track at all. What do you mean, he didn't contribute? I agree with you that adding this to Blue is silly. It should have just come out on its own as a single or EP, and that's it.

@@jeffreyroedel9804 I mean that George wasn't directly there to finish it. I'm sure he would have added lead guitar parts in his trademark style. I know that's him on the rhythm guitar, but there's nothing particularly "George" about it. I don't feel him there the way I did with the other two 1995 songs.

@@jeffreyroedel9804But it DID come out as a single ....what are you on about man ...I'm gonna get the blue album BECAUSE it will be on it .

I meant it can stand on its own as a single, and didn't have to be tacked on to the Blue for further attention. I think Blue should have remained 67-70.@@CaptainDarrick
