Say what you will about Rutten, but this is unprofessional from Hind. Opinions of your coach or not, refusing to engage with him publicly while there's cameras on you is embarrassing behavior from a professional athlete
@@joshpolson8405 Mate there's literally dozens in the stadium and its common for the production to film major rotations in play - they're more likely to be on him than not.
Hind should be dropped. Very disrespectful of him to ignore the head coach. The look on Ben's face says it all. Hind should realise that a new coach would not like the way he disrespected his head coach. Players like this destroy coaches position, creating discontent thru the playing group.
@@Hehawtyragu no excuse. while he is the Head coach you take instructions from him. There are no excuses for disrespecting anyone. Ben was very respectful to him and tried to engage with him, he should have respected him. If he had a problem Hind should have engaged with Ben, instead he ignored Him. Poor attitude and very immature of him.
Rutten should have stood up, called Hind over to him and in front of the crowd questioned 1. His attitude 2. His performance. Next week say hello to the seconds! Rutten didnt because his position was/is tenuous. Good guy, weak coach, weak team and sadly a fking weak club.
The biggest sliding doors moment was when the bombers went back to Hird instead of staying with Bomber Thompson after 2014. Thompson had that club turning around, believing in each other and caring for each other and the board rolled him just so they could say ‘up yours’ to the AFL for trying to banish Hird from the game
Disgraceful from Hind, he must be dropped for the final round. No matter your opinion of your coach or team mates; on gameday you simply MUST give them 100%.. But how ironic for someone like carro to comment on one's professionalism when she time after time has been caught blatantly lying and making up stories only to blame her "sources" when called bulltish on..
Yeah i agree with you on Hind. Delist the entitled brat. He's meant to be a professional athlete, respect the coaches position. The players are a disgrace
Caro is a woke token,, just to add A female on a panel, serves no value Same as Daisy what's her name pearce woke token... How unprofessional of a tv network To put caro on and she's never even played and pretends to know more than Legends of the game...
That was from the North game where Hind played great. And what they didn't show was the play right before this Hind got his head smashed right into the ground. Bro probably didn't even know where he was.
Not sure what's going on with Hind, but still, when your coach is speaking to you, pay some attention at least.. You ain't a superstar, and even if you were, you're EXPECTED to listen to feedback, positive or negative.. You're not above it
He’s one of our best players, the amount of run and carry he does from the back is like what Saad used to do for us and now does at Carlton for them. He’s allowed to not have faith or despise even the coach if he feels that way personally.
If it’s just one player (employee) that felt that way, you could be right, but it’s a lot more, hence you then look at the leader, if all his / her staff don’t like the leadership style, they have to go, not all the staff under them.
@@paulweston285 Maybe but the media made it out as though this happened on the weekend. This particular situation had a whole different context. Nick had just given away a 50m free and was dirty at himself. There's a bit of media manipulation going on here
The player behaving like an entitled brat. Not the coaches fault these professional athletes dont have pride in their performance. They coast on good money, stroll around looking for excuses.
It would be amazing and extraordinary if Alastair Clarkson were to come to Essendon after being sacked from Hawthorn! Imagine the drive, passion and commitment he's going to employ to prove himself and extend his legacy. Great work Kennett!
Hawks: Had hodge, Mitchell, Sewell, Crawford, Bateman well before Franklin, Roughead, Rioli, Issac Smith, Gunston, Breust, Lewis all came aboard during the Clarkson era. Who are the Essendon equivalents? Heppell ain’t it, Ridley is an awesome player considering the circumstances, McGrath has stagnated, Merrett has been very good, but who else? Parish? Wright has been terrific but he ain’t Franklin or Roughead. Jury is still out on the likes of Caldwell and Martin. We were talking about generational players at Hawthorn. Essendon have nothing like that.
@@cbgg1585 i see your point, merrit is good, but needs to works on getting back to defend on turnovers. Parish showed his capability in 2021, but hasnt really carried through this season. But i mean we've seen glimpses.. draper, redman, cox, 2m peter.. all talented players that have potential to become big names, i think its the way they've been asked to play thats held them back, they seem to keep finding themselves in the wrong position and its stopped them from being able to open the game up and generate some forward attack. I think Clarko could certainly turn it around for the bombers. Or maybe.. (just thinking out loud here).. what if sheedy stepped back into a coaching roll?
Not gonna lie what hind did is awful as a player. You listen to your coach if they are trying to give you feedback (positive or negative) you listen. It’s called respect. I know that you have to earn it but given that they played finals last year, and players coming out saying that they want to play under rutten, you would think that they would respect him. As a coach myself if i had an athlete blatantly ignoring me i would tell them to leave
It'll be a great concept to have sports fans or athletes have a TV or radio show where they dissect the performance of the sports media and speculate whether Wilson or Barrett or McClure should be sacked from their job or how much time they have left etc.
LOL last week Caroline said north would get clarko and now she's flipped to essendon. Must be good to change your tips daily until the games over and then spout how good you are at tipping
I think Rutten is the right coach for Essendon. He has pulled off some miraculous wins that were clearly coaching wins. He's only had 2 years to work with one of the best playing groups in the AFL. He has a team of very young, great players.
@@UpTheCatters he's not in the league, also I doubt he's got anymore tricks up his sleeve. It seems like it might be a Paul Roos at Melbourne style rebuild.
Disgusting and disrespectful. Hind should be embarrassed to see this. Rutten should of been in his face screaming down at him. This is what happens when players are treated like princesses and aren’t given serves and scared to lose their jobs if they don’t perform.
I’m not condoning Hinds behavior. But you need to put it in context he was given a 50 meter penalty which resulted in a goal to North , it’s not as though he just came off the ground in general play and just ignored the coach.
If I was Hinkley there is no way I would take a North offer purely because he knows the Port list and the potential, we know North will struggle for quite a while yet
Clarkson didn't want to go to Carlton 12 months ago when he was given the opportunity to go there. Why would he want to go to a joke of a club like Essendon when Carlton were a more attractive proposition 12 months ago?
That game just felt like Port letting out all their frustration for a tough and underperforming year where they lost 8 games by under 2 goals and probably were the 8th best team but just couldn’t recover from 0-5 and in the end will finish where they belong on the ladder. Should’ve beat Crows and should’ve beat Blues. Couldn’t play 4 quarters all year, so often they kicked 0 or 1 goal in a quarter when the game was on the line. Poor Essendon just copped the full pressure of a year of frustration.
Have you forgotten last season when Port were doing the exact opposite? I lost count of the amount of times that they won close matches last season. Finished second, well above and beyond where they really ought to have finished, then got smashed in a debacle of a Preliminary Final. It doesn't take long to fall down the ladder when the close wins start becoming close losses. The same thing is bound to happen to Collingwood next season if the amount of close wins that they've managed to have this season start becoming close losses, which is definitely on the cards.
Yeah the media really put the mozz on Port last year in the prelim. Talking about how the wounded dogs had no chance and it was a gift for Port, that shut always goes to their heads. Go back to 2018/19 and they lost all the close games as well. They’re just a mid card team who pops up for a year or two here and there.
That footage of Rutten made him look weak but if he had of got up and berated the player the media would be all over him too hard position to be in but clearly hes just note tuff enough on these little princesses
There's more to the Nick Hind vision. What they didn't show was the play right before this when Hind got his head smashed right into the ground. Bro probably didn't even know where he was.
Pity players are not on performance contracts. I'm sure if they were then we would see a lot more effort. A lot of Modern day players are a pack of overpaid sooks. Money is all that matters to them.
Tim Watson said no way they met with Clarkson yesterday. Also last week Caro said Clarkson would be announced as head coach of North this week. You could tell Lloydy was skeptical of the meeting (or he flat out knew it didn’t happen and couldn’t say that)
Maybe it is the club that is the problem. Clarkson is smart and surely he can assess the actions of the Essendon Football Club over the last couple of years. They are prepared to throw Rutten under the bus just so they are in the game to get Clarkson. Some clubs will get rid of a coach like underwear, while there are clubs that have never sacked a club during a season. Integrity is not universal, but surely someone like Clarkson would consider the behaviour and integrity of a prospective club.
Good points unless you consider how he was treated for a long time at a very well run and respected club. And contrast that with how he was treated by Kennett in the end. I think he realizes now if Hawthorn can do that to him after everything he achieved then there is no club with clean sheets. It's cut throat.
Has a Carlton supporter I’m very nervous if Clarkson gets the bombers job , Im the type of supporter who would rather see essendon loose than Carlton win , I loathe them
If I were Alastair Clarkson I would be going to coach GWS as their list is the best out of these three teams and surely the one that's finals bound?!;-)
Essendon's biggest problem is their toxic culture and shafting Ben Rutton because they got thrashed by a team that played well is going to make it even more toxic.
@@theol4236 Every team goes through a premiership drought then glory days, then premiership drought again. It's a cycle, we'll come around. As supporters we've gotta stay positive.
Listen to them all - talking as if it’s a done deal. Twenty four hours later and Rutten is still coach. Well done, you parasites 👏 👏. If you were Clarkson, why would you want to go to a club that’s divided (not just at board level), has a toxic culture and are talking about/treating their current coach as if he’s already been sacked? It’s got Mick Malthouse’s move to Carlton written all over it. You have got to feel sorry for Rutten. What an absolute rabble.
That vision is from the North game. Hind had just given away a 50m penalty as was watching to see if it was a goal. Rutten was trying to give him a bit of love not advise him on playing. This is media manipulation at it's best and judging by the comments everyone fell for it.
Media blowing something up out of nothing. Hind gave away a 50 and a goal and knew he would be scalded by the coach so he looked the other way. Some players face up to it when there punishment comes some don't. The media failed to mention the 50 ge gave away and the reason truck wanted to talk to him. He knew what he did wrong and truck knew he knew it.... nothing more to be said....
@@MrRad yeah that's right. That's what he was trying to tell the umpire but they called a 50 against him for desent... so of course he didn't want to cop it .... media of course left that bit out
It doesn’t matter how good a coach is if he hasn’t got the players. As soon as their team starts to fail , they leave to keep their reputations in order
We have the players, some really good young ones, don’t disagree with your generalisation, but in Essendon’s situation, this is not the case. We finished 8th last year with essentially the same team, there should have been improvement.
Pure speculation, fc gossip column making a mountain out of a mole hill again. First, brasher explained why he stepped down as president, that by the clubs constitution he would have to step down half way through next year. Better to step down at the end of this year and let whoever would take over the role to oversee the review and changes (if any) going forward. And nick hind had his head slammed in a tackle, gave away a free kick for umpire decent. (Can check easily on afl replay website, 4th q - time stamp 1:53:18 and 1:56:10) With the state of umpiring i can understand his frustration and not wanting advice around respecting umpires. We dont know he had a problem with rutten, its just speculation. These bits of info were left out of the 15 min long segment, probably because it did not fit fc's story they are trying to sell (now im guilty of speculation lol). Ess may be chatting with clarko but as has been said, they'd not be doing their job if they didn't. Just the way this "story" is presented it another beat up job, fc desperate to sensationalise anything they can; sad really. Ps thumbnail for this vid is pure click bait!
the problem at essendon is not coaching. the players do drugs and drink too much. always out partying. no professionalism at that club. clarko should go to North. that list is full of bums
Clarkson is not a great coach Essendon is wasting their money and time…I could have coached them hawthorn teams to 4 flags drunk he won’t see another premiership only frustration.
If I was Clarko and I took on this rable of a club the first move for me would be to move Hind and some others on, even just full on dumbing them if you have to, do not laugh it is required, a good coach will move on those he deems as cancer to the team, I use Blighty as an example, he took over the Crows and sacked Tony McGuinness, Chris McDermott and Andrew Jarman, 3 legends of the Club and it was not about ability, age or form, hell Jarman returned to the SANFL the following year and won the leages best and fairest. The purpose of the sackings was simple, it YELLED I am the boss, not you players, it got rid of players that were to big in the team that were controlling the attitude in the group. Clearly Hind and some others have an attitude problem and they need to go, a statement by the new coach needs to be not come into the team and hope everyone supports him and suck up to them, the new coach needs to come in and show these players that you will even up being cut and some of you will not get picked up by any other club with your present attitudes.
This show just luuuvs the backroom gossip. It's a load of bollocks. The coach has to go, nice guy, good footy brain, but not the huge ego to be a head coach. Heppel has to go. Nice guy, pretty good at footy. Couldn't drive a golf cart to the first tee. Kick out Dodoro for being a knob. Job done.
