It's a strange decision, a development coach would normally get longer than what he was given. Would have thought he would get 3 years.

@@taxads7791 Are you serious? No coach can survive 10 goal losses every week. No coach can survive when all the KPIs are getting worse and worse with time. Just in the 2 years with noble, KPIs have worsened by double. No coach can survive that. Noble is not a bad guy, he had a go but it didnt work for him. 2 years is enough when nothing is improving, and he couldnt even get effort from players.

What amazes me is people think the media has some moral or societal accountability. There a business that needs to make a profit. That simple.

He chose to take on the role, nobody forced him to. He was very well paid to coach his team to many losses. No sympathy.

Yes, that's exactly how it looks to me. There are so many other people in the club that need to be looked at, but it is always easy to just sack the coach.

I disagree. Yes its true that he wasnt the only problem or even the cause of the problem, but over his 2 years, all the KPIs have doubled in the worse direction. It doesnt matter what rabble you have on field, a good coach will get improvement. The worst thing is Noble couldnt get players to even show effort. Players were obviously not playing for the coach. Noble is not a bad guy, he had a go, but it didnt work for him, 2 years is enough time to see some improvement or competitiveness, but it was only getting worse.

The fact the team was up for 3 quarters and fell off in the 4th is the coach and leadership not pushing the standards

@@slipperyblock9679 that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever read the coach can only do so much it’s up to the players to take the chances presented to them do you watch the footy or just listen to these flogs North Melbourne should have won it was there lack of skill and lack of pressure the game plan he had in place stood up wile the players were competing at 100% but when a few players drop of it isn’t the coach it’s the list management and players 🤦🏼‍♂️🥜

@@paulweston285 this is a board that rejected brad Scott’s review, fired him and is 18 months removed from a senior coach walking out the door and not calling anyone or responding to any calls from the board in Rhys Shaw. Clearly a rotten club.

They made him turf what ultimately were players who could probably have still gone on for at least a few more years and provided him with what ultimately thus far has been a failed rebuild. So yes I'd say they did let him down, same with Shaw & Noble. The fact that Brad Scott was the most successful coach North has had since Pagan is telling.

Not even the Essendon replacement team played as bad as NM.

2 years after 72 they made the Grand finale and a year after that they won their first premiership. And they where the coolest football team ever. All because of the ten year rule. They were great days for north. PS I don't follow the Roos .

What annoyed me about it is how they said for weeks 'David Noble is our man' only to turn around and sack him when the losses got too high. Ffs as Sam Newman said even when North were successful in the 70's and 90's they were never a 'sexy side', everyone's heard the stories of how Arden Street used to look, being paid out of brown paper bags etc. Not saying they didn't sack coaches then, Wayne Schimmelbusch getting sacked in 93 brought Denis Pagan to the club which in turn brought those two flags. But for North to act like just because Arden Street looks better and they've got little to no debt means they can all of a sudden expect instant success is laughable. Literally Sonia Hood saying 'just because we're in a rebuild doesn't mean we shouldn't be winning' or whatever she said, that is literally what happens when you rebuild don't expect to be anywhere near the top of the ladder. They made Brad Scott, arguably their most successful coach since Pagan, turf out players that could have probably gone another year or two. The most disrespectful of which being Boomer, the player most casuals knew North for. They replaced them with what you can only describe as a failed rebuild thus far, and Scott got the arse once Brayshaw wasn't there to back him in anymore and they didn't get instant success. They then brought in two untried coaches, one lasted a year the other two years. I said the same about Carlton when they sacked Teague after bringing him in on a few wins, at some point, especially with a record like Carlton has, the club has got too look at themselves and admit they're the problem.

True. They should employ Don Scott or some Hawks from the 80's who had the best under the table player payment system with banks all around the world paying players.

And that's what Clarko will fix instantly! You put Clarko in the box next week see if there not pumped and competitive! Yes they will loose a lot but it won't be thrashing every week I can guarantee you that! Roos need to refind CONFIDENCE AND BELIEF! And Clarko will coach them he is to loyal not to! See if I'm wrong!!! Sam won't win as many games this year as Clarko did last year! And Sam has more talent than Clarko did!! Best coach ever! That will turn roos around! I always feared that when Gold Coast came in it would be at the expense of a Victorian club. Don't rule out the Gold Coast Roos. Personally I hope North survives in their own right.

North isn't going anywhere, so the non-North supporters should give up repeating that BS. North is debt free despite not resorting to generating easy cash from pokies like the other clubs do. North has also built a $7m state of the art multi purpose facility at Arden Street, so we're not going anywhere.

Getting rid of most of that experience was probably a good thing in 2016. It was letting 13 players walk a few years back and trading Ben Brown and then last pre season losing Tarrant. I don't get how David Noble gets any of the blame for bad management and very poor list management.

@@richardbehan8118 Some of the delistings in 2016 were warranted, but I'd argue that the likes of Boomer and Del Santo should have been retained. My main point was that the rebuild didn't begin a few years ago but has in fact been happening since 2016. They have just managed to screw it up even more as time passed since then.
