everyone should go look up tournament footage of this game, its absolutely bonkers. Certain characters like the dark elf warrior and skeleton knight have infinite combos.
i love the whole aesthetic of this game. this is one i'd definitely have put money into on a regular basis. and fina is rocking some serious battle armor 🔥
It's really odd that this one never got localised for the Western market. Admittedly some of the designs are straight out of 80's Games Workshop but it's still a great-looking game. Maybe it'll get a HD remaster eventually..
What makes this so funny to me is the specific combination of things I never imagined actually existed. An arcade 3v3 tag-team fighter with what looks like smooth and precise controls, a Warcraft-like high fantasy setting and characters made with surprisingly clean pre-rendered sprites, a unique mechanic of picking an item to use for each battle and getting new items to choose as you win battles, and strangest of all, music made with the stock SC-55 soundfont I've heard about a zillion times before. I have especially mixed feelings on the music, since the actual songs sound like they could be excellent with some better choice of instruments.

This is literally my first time seeing this game it looks good and it came out the same year as one of my favorite games came out Def Jam Fight For NYC because they both come out in 2004.
I like that it's a DnD fighting game, wish this got more traction too. If this got a sequel maybe Gnomes, and Undead could have appeared. Well, there's going to be Project L, a League of Legends fighting game... but still not the same.
One thing I miss about the 2000s was how shameless developers were with the sex appeal of certain female characters. It's funny, back then I thought it would only get worse (better) but we've actually gone backwards for the most part. 😮
This game was unusable on MAME since it was ran on the Taito Type X hardware, which was PC-Based, so you can use the JVS input emulator or Teknoparrot to play it.
The idea behind this game is rad as hell! I want a DnD fighting game that is actually good! (Not you, Warriors of Iron and Blood, that one was hilariously bad)
Taito already did the localization work, this just wasn't released outside of Japan for some reason. If you change the game region from Japan to America, all of the text will be in English
