A liquid cup measure is DIFFERENT than dry measuring cups. Liquid measuring cups indicate that 1 cup = 8 ounces. But what they really mean is 1 cup of liquid = 8 fluid ounces. For dry measurements, the rules change. Because dry ingredients vary greatly in weight, you can’t rely on the same conversion. For example: 1 cup of all-purpose flour weighs 4.5 ounces, not 8 ounces. On the other hand, 1 cup of chocolate chips weighs a little over 6 ounces.

I usually freeze bananas that are starting to turn and when I have enough of them for a banana bread I defrost them. The skin's turn brown in the freezer and the banana is limp, lol but it also adds moisture to the mix. I also use applesauce, regular and cinnamon instead of too much oil. It's a great substitute and healthier for you.

The measuring cup you guys used are for liquids there is a whole different set of measuring cups for dry ingredients . It seemed to have turned out the way you guys wanted it which it great but personally I like mine more on the moist side

FYI use loaf pans in the future, that way it will get a chance to cook through the whole way, or only put in half as much so it's not so tall. Either way will work, but I always do 2 loaf pans when I make mine.

My version of banana bread uses over-ripe fruit that has been frozen. Take out of the freezer, microwave 1 minute full power, and use. No need to mash, because it's already mush. Absolutely beautiful.....

😂 I thought the same. Admittedly, up until a few years ago, I didn’t know the difference. I even took a cultural cuisine class in HS and was never taught the difference. It wasn’t until I was watching Worst Cooks on Food Network that I learned the difference.

In America. Australia lost that in early 70s with metric when ten. Had baked but just copied mother and her equipment. It was bad because the state changed to a weird schooling method that failed in my earlier years, the fed gov was changing to metric but states did their own education and all the resources/materials were still British imperial so they just didn’t teach much about the new and none of the old. Those a little bit older had learnt all of the former and having to change over.
