My first game in this event, I drew a Captive Audience on turn 1 and played it alongside a Terror of Mount Velus = instant concede; second game, I played a QUesting Beast on turn 1 and drew the Captive Audience on Turn 2 = instant concede. This mode is broken RNG where people just mulligan for a god-hand or concede when things start to snowball.
The rules in Gatherer of Omniscience, which apply the same way as the emblem of the event, says "13/07/2018: If you cast a spell “without paying its mana cost,” you can’t choose to cast it for any alternative costs. You can, however, pay additional costs, such as kicker costs. If the card has any mandatory additional costs, such as that of Tormenting Voice, those must be paid to cast the card." So no, you can't cast spells with mutate for free, you can only cast the creature itself.
This mode is the most fun i've ever had with mtg arena. Level playing field, huge swings, beautiful interactions. I wouldn't play any other mode if this was always available.
Just got to the part of the video where you say you do paranormal investigations. My bro and I do that, too. We use an EVP meter and a spirit box app called the XB7Pro. 😃 So cool to know that my favorite Magic player is also a ghost hunter!!!
This event was pretty one sided at times tbh, but I stuck through it and in the end some of my opening hands payed out big. Still think this event could've been handled so much better.
I actually got a hand I won first turn. Mirror March with a Riddlemaster Sphinx and Gyruda. Cast Mirror, cast Sphinx, got 7 correct and had 7 5/5 haste creatures on opening turn.... Done lmao
Omniscience... And add wubrg once a turn, and starting hand is 3. Are those the only rules? Feels like the Obvious thing to do is run the ultimatums for one thing. Especially the Jeskai ultimatum
