dude, omen of the sun gives you life Also protection only works before blocking, so you could have blocked his 2/2 with 2 omen minions and he wouldn't have protection anymore

Yep. Control sucks. I often question what I'm even doing, deep in the midst of a 25 turn game, staring at a completely empty board state, slowly just transferring cards for my library to my graveyard one by one. Magic at its best.

Can someone explain how he won at 26:12? I’m like really confused. I’m a bit of a new player, so a lot of the mechanics were making sense, but that winning move didn’t. A little help?

Opponent conceded when there was an agent in play with Thassa. He would be using Thassa to exile and return Agent every turn, stealing a minimum of 1 permanent per turn. A lot of people scoop when that happens because it's very difficult to come back from.

I've opened 2 collector's packs out of my box and on the 2nd pack, the very last card was a Foil Alt Art Lukka. Has anyone encountered the last card being something other than an uncommon?

lol, you guys remember caw blade ? xD it was a standard deck so powerful that it went from standard to legacy in no time. Lukka agent is a busted deck for this period in standard but it will never see legacy play. so always remember, that they do some weird design choices here and there. Also who remembers rebells ? that standard meta also sucked alot xD

4 agent no thassa. Turn 5 agent at least 50% of the time with turn 6 double agent. Super consistent.

At 13:30, why didn't you play Kiora for the hexproof 8/8 hydra? You played shark typhoon for 6 and then played a seventh land after that. Of course, shark typhoon was removed immediately by spot removal and the match then dragged on. But the hexproof kraken could probably have beaten down your opponent in just 3 turns.

MossBoss i think the ratio is generally 34-45% land, so adding 20 cards so 7-9 lands should do it for a good ratio

At 50:40 Play Narset of the Ancient Way and throw Shark Typhoon at Alseid of Life's Bounty. Of course also play other Narset to get Thassa become a creature and block the card draw from Dawn of Hope -> Problem Solved ;)

I think companions are great and have put a really refreshing spin on standard idk that's just my opinion though I know people always gonna find sumn to complain about but when you really consider it they're not nearly broken as FoD or Oko. I think they really stretch the meta out makes for a lot more competitive builds

In the last game I think you could have played the new Narset and then discarded Shark Typhoon with the minus to have dealt six damage to the 5/5 Alseid. He would then not have been able to get protection from both white and blue on the final turn.

You don't need a powerful computer to run arena, I run it off of a laptop just fine. I do have a new laptop now, but I used to play it off of 7 year old zenbook. If anything it's Arena's servers that will cause you problems!

As an Esper control player who main decks 4 brazen borrowers and 3 Banish into fables, i love it when they cheat out agent and think the game is over only for me to take them right back and get the etb triggers all over again. If you time it right,you can bounce Lukka, Fires and your own borrower right as they have to sacrifice Thassa to Doom Foretold. Then they realize the board is empty and you have 3 bodies on the field waiting to bounce everything again next turn.

That's the problem - you can build one competitive deck after some months of playing but it will just often not be good enough once you finally manage to gather enough wildcards. Also rotation. They should really make packs way cheaper
