Thank you for this quick look at Chapala. It's my favorite town on the north side of the lake. I hope to get back there next year and spend some time exploring the south side of the lake. I like the welcoming Mexican people, relaxed atmosphere and of course the climate. I also liked being near the very helpful people at the Lake Chapala Society. In Chapala you are in a Mexican village but very near to that "soft landing" you often talk about.
Interesting you showed the favorite team in this video that’s a year old , my husband is a huge 49ers fan and it’s cool to see how far they’ve gotten so far , possibly Super Bowl bound . Blessings
We’ve lived 20 minutes outside of Chapala in a small town for 4 months now. We absolutely love it and imagine spending the rest of our lives here. We have horses, cows, goats and chickens as our neighbors. We don’t make it into Ajijic much. Nothing against it, but we were looking to be in a neighborhood with mostly Mexicans and we weren’t looking for a gringo enclave. Our Spanish is coming along pretty good. I’m sure that wouldn’t be the case in Ajijic.
I really want to visit Chapala- I still haven't totally decided where I ultimately want to end up living; I do love colonial cities. Thanks so much for the tour. Looks like you and Paulette are having fun getting out and about again!
Looking at that place now it brings back memories for sure. Ok, someday again visiting and doing a little Razzel Dazzel there LOL. Nice place yes, to visit but a little small for someone young like me being 66 LOL. I need action like it is in Guadalajara LOL. Being in Guadalajara you have everything but not down there but yes, it is nice. A weekend trip with your lover having your romantic time ok, then we are talking business ok, we all are different LOL. Ok, I know that you guys are be home now in San Luis so again great video. Speaking of checking in to a Mexican consulate for visa status, I wrote a greeting to one here in Finland so let's see how it goes. While I'm here why not check in to it and not do it in our beloved CA. Ok, I don't want to talk and share about it to much here since this channel is mega big grande social media channel so anyway, keep on trucking LOL>
Chapala is green now but later on during the dry season will be more brown. Guadalajara has 2 bus stations. Central Viejo and Central Nuevo. The buses between lakeside and GDL use Central Viejo.
Hey ! We have never been to the area, but when researching possible retirement cities this area and San Miguel de Allende were two of the first we eliminated ( along with cartel areas 😂). Both areas, with the huge expat population, seemed to us to be over-priced USA-light. We could be wrong ! We speak Spanish and have lived in Costa Rica and Nicaragua and hope to surround ourselves with locals and really experience the culture. We do love your videos !
@@heathermoore-simmons4544 I have been many many times because we have family there and Costa Rica, but my wife is the one that lived there. We lived together in CR. We are retiring in a few months and will likely retire in Matagalpa…cooler temps. We hope to be there by mid March ! I find Nicaragua to be very laid back, friendly people, very inexpensive….great lifestyle. Maybe similar to CR 30-40 years ago. Matagalpa also keeps us away from tourists and expats. I don’t mind a few expats around but when it is a large percentage of the population, it is very unappealing to us.
Very pretty area with beautiful parks. When I saw the shoe shop I immediately thought of Paulette, but you said she didn't spend much time there, lol. The lake is so nice, it's a shame that you can't swim in it. Did you get someone to puppy-sit your brood?
We found good homes for the puppies. We now just have the two dogs that we took in. One of the neighbor kids walked our dogs and fed them while we were gone. Thanks for watching and commenting. -Marc
