We are The Two Travelers in Mexico. We are exploring the beauty and complexity of Mexico. We retired, sold our house, sold or gave away almost everything else and packed up our Hyundai Elantra with as much as we could get into it and headed for Mexico.
The charm of slow travel 🙏🏽 I’m probably doing SE Asia slow travel next year (62 to🎉) but a little curious of Mexico as well. Many options so enjoy watching other brave souls who’ve gone ahead 🙏🏽
@@TheTwoTravelersInMexico have you tried some MEX local brands like SuperMercado? I met some Mexican locals always recommend the local SuperMercado says better than Amazon
@@TheTwoTravelersInMexico no, I meant the SuperMercado, the Mexicans’ local online shopping platforms. and there are some other online shopping platforms, maybe you can do a comparison in another episode?
You can always ask Alexa “where are my orders “ and she will tell you when . And also Alexa notifies you with a sound and a green ring color when a package is out for delivery you can ask her what exactly is out for delivery by saying “Alexa notifications” when you see the green ring
@@TheTwoTravelersInMexico also if you expect a delivery via DHL you can go to the DHL website for tracking and selection the options of SMS notifications whether it’s delivery, custom exception, out for delivery etc it’s specially useful for me when I’m expecting orders from abroad or amazon US
@@TheTwoTravelersInMexico after I told you about Alexa , I configured to have reminders and notifications in all my devices, an now it also shows on my tv because of the fire tv
Nice video, I have always enjoyed that you two are just sharing your daily life. I don't know if I could take care of as many dogs as you do, it has to be frustrating, but I guess it has to be the starfish principle, you make a difference one at a time. It is totally true, the only failure is not trying.
It's sad that there are so many strteet dogs. Some appear to have been lefvt by their owners. Some are born in the field. Not a good situation either way but we do what we can to help. -Marc
Thanks for sharing. My wife is in CDMX right now, learning to speak Spanish. The photos she sends are great. I've only been to BajaCA. But I love it there too.
I love that you tell stories about what is happening in your daily life... for example when you found your sweet momma dog and all those adorable puppies!! That whole story really got my attention because it's like HOW do you find homes for SO many puppies?? You did it and your dogs are for sure loved and cared for. Also I really loved your travel videos because for me they were different from everyone else.
Awe, thank you so much Diana. We feel like it's our responsibility to take care of the street dogs. We do try to provide a different perspective on our travel videos as well. I know you've been following us for a while and we appreciate that. -Marc
Lyndsie's sound is echoing like she is in an empty closet - nothing to baffle the echo - or her mic is no good. Other than that the flow is good and interesting. Alan - a retired video engineer.
@@TheTwoTravelersInMexico Do you think they will ever change the temporary resident requirements? Can I put 6500.00 in the bank every month for 6 months ?
@@sallylee6934 I hope they do. With the requirements going up by 20% or so a year it will be very difficult for people to qualify. I think that if Mexico wants people to get residency of some kind and not just border hop every 6 month or so some adjustment will need to be made or people using the reqularization program by over staying their visitor visa by 1 day but even this has restrictions. As far as the monthly income they will look to see if you have regular income over a period of time. Some consulates ask for 6 months bank statements and some ask for 12 months of bank statements. -Marc
Great video. Especially the pet sitting part. I looked up Pet Sit Mexico and looked up all 6 available sits available. I will say a few were way more than just pet sitting and light housekeeping. IDK if many prospective pet sitters are going to want to do home maintenance like fixing toilets. lol. I know part of the reason people will sit for free is so they can explore the area but some of the schedules for pet care were a bit rigid and did not allow but for a few hours to be away from the job. One lady wanted 'experienced pet owners', but would not let anyone bring their own pet while pet sitting?? Im sure she had her reasons but if someone wants 'experience pet owners' then that usually means the sitter has pet/s too, right? So, the pet sitter gets a pet sitter for their own pet/s? Crazy, but it could work for some. BTW thanks for rescuing those dogs from a life of misery. Im sure they are thriving with you guys now!
I=There are house sits like that that can be fairly restrictive. You just have to decide if your up for that. Some people don't want people to bring there own pets because it might upset their pets. -Marc
Hola Marc, Paulette y Lyndsie! Lyndsie, here is a few bits of knowledege I've garnered in my move to Ensenada from the LA/Ventura area of CA in 2022. It's not so overwhelming if you just do your research. I would recommend to not just jump right into taking Spanish classes, only because it's a lot of info thrown at you all at once to memorize. Do the Duolingo thing for starters to better learn some of the mostly used words and some phrases that you will need for an easier transition. You can learn much easier at your own pace and even if you don't quickly learn how to structure your sentences they will know what you're trying to say. Mexicans are very helpful and you will share some laughs while better learning the language. Lyndsie, you really should look into getting your residency through the regularization program. If you come down with a Temporary Resident Visa you can drive your foreign plated vehicle indefinitely in the free zones even after switching to Permanent Residency in four years. The free zones include all of Baja and parts of Sonora along with the full state of Quitana Roo where Cancun is located. If you drive to all the way through to Cancun you can legally keep your car as long as you want but it has to stay in Q.Roo. Sell or give away everything except what you can fit into your car! You can get everything you need here and either way you'll want furniture and other things that are better suited to a beach climate with the humidity. I crossed the border very easily in Tijuana, I went in to customs with a brief list of the things I had in my packed Subaru Forester and they charged me $300 pesos, that was $15.00us at the time. The guards just asked me to open my back hatch, they looked in at all of my boxes and said "Hola!" to my cat and said I was good to go. I said Muchos gracias with a big smile and with my best impersonation of the Terminator I said "I'll be back.." They all smiled and the fully armed women guards I was flirting with even giggled a little and waved me goodbye. My last bit of advice for people contemplating the move to Mexico for a healthier and better quality of life is don't wait or the time will never seem to be just right! BTW- Have a Happy Birthday Paulette! Give Marc a hug and that way you'll get one back! Mucha suerte desde la hermosa Ensenada!
The Mexico relocation guide is a good service. I know some people wjo are very happy with the service. Maybe if and when she moves to Mexico long term she should look into that. -Marc
In my opinion The two travelers in Mexico attract a older crowd interested in retirement versus a younger audience who may really interested in retirement but travel and working on line etc
Lyndsie, make sure to get a good stripping comb for your dog regarding the heat. And and definitely a couple gallons of water of and keep the water bowl easy to grab for your stops. Make sure to scope out where you stop and look out for stray territorial dogs before you take your dog out.
Hi Two Travelers and Lyndsie. Great interview. Lyndsie which province, city you driving out of, to MX? Been debating myself, solo..not sure if very vise through..
@@TheTwoTravelersInMexicoBe careful if driving solo. Me, from Toronto area . I was advised, by expats now living in PV. a couple, not advisabe solo drive. Not as easy as people make it. I'm now rethinking the idea of relocating. Good for you, I applaud you. in my Ealy 60's, but no one ever guess is it😅😅
A lot of the travel channels are geared to younger nomad vibe. I like finding channels such as yours. I'm getting ready to move to Guanajuato mid-September having sold my house. The extra physical distance between me and my loved ones is the only thing I get nervous about.
Thank you for watching and commenting. The distance can be an issue for some people but there is video chat video calls that are available. Everybody is a little different as far as the need to communicate with family and friends. Once you move to Guanajuato I'm sure you will figure out if you are able to deal with the distance separation. You will also make new friends in Mexico. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us. We'll be happy to answer what we can. -Marc
Thank you Mark and Paulette, by the way Paulette happy birthday. I really enjoy your interview with Lyndsie. Thanks for sharing, love that you two are animal lovers.
I learned more info about life in Mexico, as we start our Queretaro experiment. Keep up with the great retirement life in Mexico, although you keep yourselves very busy.❤❤❤ Love and good vibes heading your way.
Liobardo michuacan.. Isn't that where the furer had to show up ahüevo to see his beloved rightful assigned wife after all of those time travel assignments... & interpol or the US found about it and followed every American home.. Even those whom had taken the bus to go grocery shopping to the date! I luv Chevy, Michoacan! Ps. 3 legged dog is an English term. Not the person that speaks such language while selling empanadas in Acapulco!
These is a choice for both options. We have stuff delivered to our house but you can also have packages from FedEx or DHL delivered to a drop off point. -Marc
What if you were born in Mexico but are a US citizen.. parents have a house in Jalisco (Tizapan) but it’s all solar and connected to a well.. so I’m not sure there’s any utility bills.. since it’s a vacation home
It depends on how many solar panels and if the solar panels produce more energy than what is used while people are using the house. In your parents case there probably isn’t an electric or water bill. -Marc
I liked Bucerias and Sayulita the most. Probably the least favorite was Mazatlan but even Mazatlan was nice but very noisy where we were staying. Paulettes favorites were Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita and her least favorite was Bucerias. -Marc
