In this video I review the Chapin ProSeries backpack sprayer. I run it thru its paces by spraying the vineyard, fruit trees, and bur oaks with Captan.

So-far so good. There are some slight issues spraying a long time with Captan, but that is to be expected. You can get your own at the link below: Chapin 61800 4 Gallon Backpack Sprayer -- amzn.to/3hratBj

Nice review. Have you ever thought about using some sort of mixing paddle? Even without a drill, I would think it would be a lot easier than shaking 20-30 pounds of fluid to try to mix all of that - and it might help relieve the clogging problems, too.

Thanks Jasper! Yes, I have thought of that - just never did it.

Nice review. The hedging sure made it easier to spray.

Thank you Jeanne -- it will also make it dramatically easier to put the nets on which is coming soon!

It's amazing how enjoyable it is to watch you do so many that I will probably never have to do, but still find fascinating. Thanks. Grapevine question if you don't mind. I have about a 30' stretch of grapevines. How many would be too many for that space? I have 5 older cordons and 5 newer ones that are still developing. Is that too many or not to worry? It's double wired, similar to yours. Thanks.

Thanks Samlon! If you were to plant the type of grapes I grow, 6 foot row spacing is best so you could get 6 vines in a 30' space. My vines each have double trunks that each come up to the top wire and have a 3 foot cordon each. This makes it much easier to recover from a bad winter or other damage. What type of grapes are you growing?

@@PlanetMojo Previous owners planted Pinot Noir and left no instructions. The cordons lever looked like the nicely pruned ones I see on RU-vid etc. :(

@@SamlonHoldfield Well then I think you are in luck. If they are straight Pinot Noir, then you can easily space them at 4'. That is standard they are currently going to 2 1/2' spacing with 4' rows! My grapes are a Pinot Noir/Vitis riparia hybrid developed for very cold weather (-40), and are far more vigorous than straight vinifera vines. You could go with the 2 1/2' spacing if you want (12 vines in your space), but you would need to keep up with the pruning.

@@PlanetMojo Thanks. I'll see with what I have in the ground how to accomplish that.

Thanks Eric! It actually helps to keep the vines disease-free, but looking good is nice as well 😊
