Building and fixing things correctly (usually) by myself (mostly) 😊
We have tons of how-to videos, reviews, and I show you how to build outbuildings, a tiny house, and tons of other things along the way. i am also restoring the native habitat on our property and create videos on how to grow native grasses and trees including the mighty bur oak!

I have used tons of these model Porter Cable routers in 3 separate shops for the past 20 years and even though every power tool will eventually " give up the ghost" with proper maintenance these bad boys can live for along time! I was bummed when they stopped making them. They were an industry standard....
Same here. I've worked with them since the mid seventies! We had an ancient one at a shop I worked at back then that was still kicking, and probably still is! They were purchased by Black & Decker in 2004, and B&D owns DeWalt as well, so unless they sell the name, they are not coming back. 😑
You are very knowledgeable about the grasses. I'm so impressed. The best I can do is tell the difference between a weed a nice looking grass and what we call crab grass.
Hi Mojo, I don't think I have a favourite fruit really as long as they are ripe and sweet I'm happy, You mentioned marigolds in the flower garden do you have the french and the African marigolds I believe the Africans are quite a lot bigger.
How do you get rid of the milkweed? It started in my front yard the years ago when I didn't know what it was so I left it that year. The next year I saw how invasive it was so researched it a bit... Oh boy. I dug down so far but couldn't get all the roots out. Help!!!!!! Please😊 again what zone? I'm 5b.
I am in zone 4a. All you can do is keep pulling them as soon as you find them. Their rhizomes are relentless and it can take forever - like playing whack-a-mole 😑 The seeds also float in on the wind so if there are plants nearby, they will keep reseeding your garden.
husqvarna trimmers need carb adjustment out of the box but after being propperly adjusted they run great. I run my husky trimmer hard it needs a minor tune up about once every 2 months or so. If you know how to adjust a carb yourself it's super easy to do
I think we determined before that wild carrot and queen anne's lace are in fact the same! Where are you finding this crazy info that it's not??? 😂😂😂😂 I swear it is.
Thanks for the reminder J, you are correct! I believe I learned that they are separate from a RU-vid video long ago, and it's one of those persistent falsehoods that are hard to shake. It was stated that one has the black (or red) spot in the middle, and the other doesn't, but the spot is there or not there on the same plant. Hopefully next year I get it right! 🥴
@@jned3967 No, it was wild carrot. I found a video on it back when I first planted the ditch because there was so much of it growing here when I first started. It was a video from a homesteader for sure. He said one was native and the other was invasive, and that the center spot was how to tell the difference. Some RU-vid 'knowledge' dies hard 😐
Thanks Deborah! The rainy spring has set things back like a month, but I'll be starting the stonework this week (if it doesn't rain me out!). I love the more natural gardens as well. Grasses and flowers together is much more appealing to me, and the grasses stay around all winter! 😊
@@PlanetMojo Right! I’ve never cared for flower gardens with all the flowers in rows. It just looks strange.🤗 I hope the weather holds for you to do your stone work. I need quite a bit of that done too! I only have one walkway and it’s so sunken in that it’s hard to walk on. It would need removing and starting again.🤗❤️🐝
@@deborahdanhauer8525 Not looking forward to stonework in the blazing sun myself, but I am looking forward to having the stairs done and a bit of path to walk on! I still have grass to plant there as well, so I really need to get moving!
Hi Mojo, great show looking so good and well kept,I did ask the question a few videos ago but didn't get an answer,my Question was do you have or grow a plant related to the mint, plant is called catnip it has a lot of medicinal properties and it can be used as an insect repellent.
Hi Larry, I actually responded to that video, but somehow it never went through 🤔 Catnip grows wild around here. It's not native, but people have been planting it for years and it is all over the place. Most of the cat treats we but have catnip in them as well. It may have some insect repellant properties, but it smells like skunk, so I wouldn't be tempted to use it for that 🦨
Planet mojo I think you must go to learn from some body else, they show you better way, your way is way way too slow and wasting too too much time, you must stop do any video and don’t waste people time either your stupid way
After trying/growing several different types of oak trees over the years, the bur oaks, by far and away, have become my favorite. They are definitely as tough a tree as they come. I very much believe if you can get them established in their first 3 or so years of growth, they stand a very good chance to live for hundreds of years.
I have the same happen to a baby oak (deer, rather than rabbits though). The tree is in a pot, now in the greenhouse, and has sprouted new growth down at the base. So happy it is going to survive.
If you can get them past the age here they appear as a meal, they do just fine. One thing to note though is that white oaks create a very long taproot before they work on leaves, so they get pot-bound real quick! I have the same problem going on with five white oaks in tubes, and need to get them in the ground asap!
Hi Mojo, that was really interesting let's hope it makes it and you know what they say about little acorns. BTW I was looking up some useful plants and one of them was pretty interesting ..a plant called catnip it's related to the mint family makes a nice tea and it's good for anxiety it's also a good repellent against moscitos you simply pick off a few leaves and rub on the skin.
First visit here. Just planted (2000 vines) 2024. Interested in your trellis system. Planning angled 5"endposts with screw anchors, but see you have used double posts with a cross member as well as a cable. It seems a bit overbuilt. No?
