I've always considered a Chapman guitar, just wish I could get on with the neck profile. As I like the design of some of them, the explore shape one in the blood red or the purple, just looks so cool. I also like the look of the Norseman
@Rob Chapman ypu have recently asked, what will people do in your place with Chapman guitar. Well I will send all models to Dave, to make review of them
40 Minutes of dream turned nightmare apocalypse music resolved by some mighty fine blues - don't know where you took us Dave but thanks for the ride - it was a privilege and a blast to journey with you and thanks for getting us safely back home again at the end :).
man, hello from Kazakhstan you've inspired me to play more on my crappy affinity strat and now i love it thanks a lot for becoming my sensei, my master
Dave, it’s been said a zillion times but you are just a fantastic musician and human being. Much like you had to deal with a painful breakup last year, I am now dealing with my own as my wife said she wants a divorce. You’ve made it through and have persevered. So I can do the same darn thing. Thank you for your inspiration.
I'm so sorry to hear that, man. I know it doesn't really change the reality of it, but you'll find there are lots of others who have been through similar things and most are happy to give you a listening ear or a shoulder to lean on whenever you need it. Sending you an e-hug across the web and a hope for you to find a new light at the end of this tunnel.
400billionsuns Thank you very much. I’m thankful to have friends and family who have been through the same pain and are very supportive and encouraging right now.
Just incredible Dave. Thank you so much for sharing your music with us. I don't know how you do it and keep it so consistently amazing, but I sure do love it. I can't think of any other guitar channel on the 'tube that PLAYS guitar like you do, instead of just talking about guitar the entire time. You're a true artist.
The intro absolutely dropped my jaw. Also im really happy, because my ML-1 Trad was my first guitar, is my favorite guitar, and now one of my guitar idols raves about this thing!
The best intro I've ever heard you play Dave . Its unique and so beautifully played . You just keep getting better. Love your playing. Its food for the soul That is a beautiful guitar too man . Excellent gravy Love the reverse headstock too sweet
Yep it’s another WoW .. luv the chilled out vibe that guitar sure sings on every note... Bob should be very proud of the crew and greatful to you as you have certainly done the guitar justice... cool
WOW DAVE, that intro jam was intense, heart felt and no words can describe what emotions that piece brought out in myself, lived every note my friend. You are truly a shining light on a dark day my friend, keep these coming, inspired yet again
Nice playing, and awesome gift! You sound just like Dave Simpson....oh wait, you ARE Dave Simpson... BTW I really enjoy your red couch sessions, and thanks for introducing me to Fillipa, she's doing awesome stuff as well
Not to necro an old video, but I walked into a local shop yesterday and there was a used Ml1 Pro Traditional in natural ash on the wall. Needless to say, it's mine now. Great guitar!👍 You should get royalties for every product we've discovered on your channel...
I’m definitely convinced that a cardboard box and a rubber band would sound fantastic in your hands. The ML1 is amazing too though and you deserve it. Wonderful opening 😀👍👍👍
Dave I don’t know if you will read this, but I just wanted to say Thank You for everything, you are seriously an inspiration! I love your videos and your work, hopefully you read this and see how much this channel means to me, thank you again ✌🏼
I can recommend a solution for switching pickups without having to fight the trembar but it will take some wiring changes. Namely, a push/push pot on the volume to select between bridge/neck pickups and a push/pull on the tone that will bypass the 5-way switch and engage the push/push instead. That way you keep the flexibility of the 5-way when you want it but you can also switch pickups quickly when playing live.
Just short of 20 min in I remembered there was to be a review but I no longer care. When it starts I'll need to hit the pause and soak this in for a few hours. Haven't enjoyed being stunned by music out past a current reality in decades. Forgot how nice it can be. Capturing in real time what music can be to the player is why I continue to search for others who interact with the sounds of their instrument - primarily! No audience required - however much they'd enjoy it. Pause time anticipated.
@6:53 Duuuuude! That was an amazing whammy and string bend combo! Took me by surprise! Such a cool trick! If I had a whammy pedal I'd be practicing it right now! :)
Please put all intros into one album , I saw someone below post that idea @Jason Coleman & I just want to say that would be amazing & I want you to prosper & get the recognition you deserve beyond us loyal fans , I will buy as many albums & anything else to support you .
Telecaster brass saddles reference makes sense!! 👍🏼👍🏼I want one of these geetars after watching this. Love your honest reviews. I think chapman rock. This review is very reassuring.
i have the same guitar and i totally agree about the selector switch. pain in the arse lol. also i found the fingerboard a tinnnyyyy bit too rounded and i often slip the high e off the neck. but thats not a major issue tbf. i had an ml3 traditional too and i think i preferred that overall. but chapman guitars are pretty damn decent tbf and id always look at getting more
Hi Dave, cheers from Liverpool NY! Variety is indeed the spice of life which is why i have so many guitars and amps lol. Not a fan of the reverse headstock but with that being said the guitar looks good. Btw great playing Dave! :)
Got ours today in the family I can say there's no Marshall magic in this wand though Marshall magic is always tastee The brass on brass is like a 1000 Floyd on steroids , Takes a mean pedal as well , Very memorable in sound
Very precise and define sound. A good guitar indeed but the red Oswald strat is still unbeatable 😜. One amongst your best intros! I like your always inventive way of playing. You really have a signature sound that makes your playing recognisable from other guitarists. Like Hendrix you experience new grounds, may be not such a revolution he was, but still opening new horizons to the guitar world ! Cheers Dave ☠️
I was going to play some Fugazi on youtube for background music, then saw this on the home screen. Uploaded an hour ago you say? That means it's new. Fugazi can wait. I was initially quite critical of Chapman guitars for going with reverse headstock, I thought it was just to be different or follow a trend if that's not juxtaposition lol... but I know the value of it for the strings and nut. It's also slightly easier to tune a reverse headstock due to hand position. Only thing I don't dig is the infinity symbol... I had that on an Ibanez EW series accoustic. Much prefer dots. It's sounding great though.
