the pink pony club video is still amazing, but it was funded by the label that ended up dropping her in 2020 and (in my opinion) doesn’t encapsulate her real energy like the DIY ones that followed (my kink is karma, naked in manhattan) do!
I just saw her in concert with my friends…SHE NEEDS A BIGGER STAGE. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen and she has the best stage presence EVER. She knows what she’s doing and she’s a STAR. I cannot wait to see what else she does. It was a truly magical night
I just found Chappell a few months ago. The Pink Pony Club video is my favorite! I think it is a perfect representation of her anxieties about coming out, being herself and her false start in the music industry. Kind of a time capsule, to look at it now in retrospect and see how far she has come. She is such an icon and I am truly grateful for her music.
Aaaah so happy you reacted to these! 2023 has been a WONDERFUL year of music, but I'd say The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess is my AOTY. I'm from Michigan, so her staying true to the midwest aesthetic makes my queer heart so happy! I actually ran my first marathon a few weeks back and essentially played her songs on repeate the entire race ❤️
ah I love watching ppl listen to her for the first time/discover her!! I've been a fan since her first EP and it's amazing to watch her blow up! I saw her for the first time in Boston on this current tour and the queer energy was magical truly
The music video for super ultra modern girl was filmed in the Beverly center a gorgeous 4-5 story mall in Los Angeles they have those red modern chairs all over the mall . Also shown is the observatory a common hikedone up the mountain. To the observatory Beverly close to the Hollywood sign. It’s all about being an outsider and coming to LA and doing touristy things that la residents actually do.
Dude, it would honestly mean the world to me and all the Nothing But Thieves fans if you reacted to their EP ‘Moral Panic 2’ - I’m obsessed with your other reactions and you’ll have pretty much completed their discography if you do. It’s 5 of their best songs ever made :)
