@@TheBr3akRoom I can't name specific names but I can say I saw lots of comedy like this in the 90's. Maybe I sought it out, I don't know, but I don't think Dave was completely original or the only comic to mine this territory. He had a show that reached the most people, and he's a genius, so it all works. I don't know how ahead of his time he was, i think he was of his time, and still is. he stays current i'm sure you've heard or seen. I think many hip comedians can or at least could navigate racial waters without crashing the ship. I think it's part of what makes you relatable and funny is to not be a hater. I guess there are a few exceptions there . 🙈🙉🙊

took me a long time to get the "ungawa" reference. Apparently it's a bastardization of a swahili word that means "be quiet and listen to me". Also what Tarzan used to yell at the jungle animals to get them to be quiet 🤣 Chappelle really is on a different level🤣🤣🤣

Bill Burr with hair is my favorite. That's when he did Let It Go, which is one of the greatest comedy specials ever. He's gotten better with age, and less hair, but that one is a masterpiece.

It's been a Fox News talking point for 25 years. The whole thing is, there are several religious holidays all around the same time as Christmas. If you are a retail worker in the US, you generally have no idea of what all types of religious people you will encounter. Saying "Happy Holidays" is just a way of including everyone instead of excluding people. Jewish people aren't going to get angry that you said Merry Christmas to them. The question is, why do people feel the need to be dickheads about things when you could be polite and just say "hey, Happy Holidays to you". ? It's really not that big of a deal but hey, people gotta have something to continually bitch about forever.

yeah but you can say merry christmas as much as you want to, just like always. if you are publishing it or advertising it you consider your audience. not much has changed on that topic. much ado about nothing in my opinion. merry xmas was always my choice but people got mad at that since day 1 too. happy new year btw. alot of so called cancel culture i think you are referencing is just feedback loop and outside bot influence. if you want many followers you have responsibility to understand your audience. nothing new there, aka marginalize at your own risk. being overly cautious is part of advanced demographics. part of data driven marketing. annoying, yes, but consider the alternative -- protect only the majority. that promotes systematic racism to it's fullest so i don't think we can go back. anyways great reaction, i'm just reacting to the 'can't do this now' vibe you guys often have. chappelle or anyone with that strength of comedic voice can do things like this now. it would have to be about now though, not 20 years ago.

Did you know when the Clan was on tour overseas with Rage Against the Machine in 1997, they were called back to do HOT 97 SUMMER JAM in NY but some of the members didn't want to come back to the states cuz they wanted to continue the tour? And when they did stop the tour to come back, the production at SUMMER JAM was screwed up and onstage Ghostface said "FUCK HOT 97?" They weren't radio hype son cuz that move hurt them on the air waves nationally. And if it was so called "hype" to you, maybe it was hype for a reason.
