'Chaps' by Ralph Lauren [01] - TV commercial (1981) 

I bought this cologne 7 years ago when i was 14 at a yard sale brand new. ive never really used it but i had no idea it was this old.

I'm assuming the "Chaps" they're talking about is the abbreviated version of the word "chaparal" which are the heavy leather leggings cowboys would wear over the front of their pants to prevent their jeans from getting ripped up while chasing cattle through thorny brush. The phonetic pronunciation of this word is "shaps".
