I was struggling in understanding settlements and clearance and I always get lost at the part of the networks people talk about it expecting you to already know. So they NEVER cover this basic area. But just assuming you know which just hinders the whole process of understanding it from the beginning. Coming from a background with no expeirence in it. Good job Ramesh, but Issuer bank will not allow payment in one go , it will first check the card number , balance and PCI DSS ...if every thing is correct then it will ask for PIN , once the PIN validated done then only the payment gets debited from buyer account and credited to Acquirer bank account ... Also NPCI , ATM Vendor all come into picture, lot of thinks needs to cover ...

Thanks for video. I wanted clarification, in the beginning you said that POS belongs to merchants bank. However POS can be third party like NCR or Verifone etc. which then connects to the payment gateway which have partnership with the acquiring bank.

Thank you for explaining in details. Please assist me to know what if acquirer and issuer bank is same, will the transaction will flow in same pattern ?? Like from acquirer to payment system and then back to acquirer again since the acquirer and issuer bank is same. Kindly shed some light on this.
In that case, the transaction will be authorized within the acquirer network (which is also the issuer in this case). Card BIN will tell the acquirer that it is an "on-us" transaction (our card-our terminal) and the transaction need not be routed to the interchanges (VISA, MC).
