I am so thankful for this series. My neighborhood ladies enjoy ‘watching’ Nancy teach. I was concerned that with Podcasts, how would the ladies want to listen to Bible study? My young ladies are in their 70’sand 80’s 😊 Therefore, I thank you for your video series that you are offering for my upcoming Bible study in our little neighborhood! I am trying to understand how to get started using this video teaching in conjunction with the workbook. What is the correct way to organize my study. I have ordered the workbooks for my ladies. Do we watch this first video and then begin the weekly lessons? Thanks in advance!
It really is totally up to each person when to show the video. Some groups find it beneficial to allow their group to work through the lesson without any preconceived ideas. This gives them the freedom to allow the Holy Spirit to lead their thoughts as they study. Sometimes when the video (Session 1) is shown prior to the personal study, women tend to want to “get it right” and try to line up their thoughts with what was shown on the video. Also, another reason that showing the video the day you discuss it works well is because it refreshes people's memories what they studied throughout the week and enhances the discussion. So, often groups choose to show the video after the ladies have completed their week of study. To conduct the study this way, you would hand out the books, take the week to study, come to the next meeting, show the video, and then discuss the week's questions. There isn’t a right or wrong way to do the study. You can certainly show the video prior to their week of study, as well ~ meet, show the video, then do the week's study that is about the video seen. The following week, follow the same plan. We have heard of groups that successfully, and with meaningful discussion, do it that way, too.
