Mcdoubles back again with a brand new video and today I check out the day 1 release of Project Ascensions brand new "Chapter 3" for classless WoW on the seasonal realm.
I take a brand new character, level it to 70, and give my take on the new experience. I must admit, I had loads of fun. I did not expect it to be so much fun and I think chapter 3 is easily the best release of the entirety of Season 9. Definitely worth trying again in a future video!

I'm lving a character in BGs and in the open world while waiting for ques, and i have to say im enjoying this more than I did at the beginning of Season 9, HOWEVER, the season is ruined by the random talents. I love the idea of making the epic and legendary enchants spells and talents, but the random talents can keep you for effectively playing the game, especially while leveling. I cant tell you how many talents I've gotten that are completely useless for my build because i don't have anything related to those talents, as well as how many talents I'm missing from my build that make me feel so weak. At least when I get random abilities, the abilities can still be useful and add to what I can do. I do have talents that are related to my build, but most of them are secondary talents I would pick after my main ones that make the build work. I am having fun reguardless, though. The way they now have certain types of abilities level locked so you can't just get them all at once is great and actually feels good. I got the types of abilities I needed at the right times, and I haven't felt like I'm missing much from my builds. I wish I could say the same for talents.

uh.. if your playing on the seasonal server thats.. its entire gimic. Wildcard, random talents nad skills. you can use the skill cards and golden skill cards to insure you get certain things but still. if you dont like it you would be better playing the normal server

I just wish it was the same way as season 7 or 8 with Manastorms in. Random talents just kills every bit of fun of the randomness for me. I just can't get into it. Hopefully season 10 returns to random abilities only.

I feel like a season of free pick, would be better. Or With the build/class archetype, that you are a build within the chosen role. Changes upon prestige and allows you to change Roles between 1-10 Tbf I feel like they could do the seasons better, and wish they would upgrade builds like zanda windreaver. Or the latter that uses Recklessness. But mainly looking forward to the Vanilla class experience with the unique ascension res tied to each class.

Yo! Glad to see you back! I know over the last few years we’ve been taught as ascension players prestiging is the way but just investing in a build is the way in season 9! So I’d suggest just continuing to push with this if you’re enjoying it and landing some more big talents and buffs!

From memory of retail, that dungeon you did towards the end has a damage amplification mechanic from the spheres that spawn after the lightning. I remember having to use it to multiply my output, which would also explain why the healer and tank damage was amped, because you weren't in the spheres.

The problem with frost on Elune is not much other than mage talents boost it. Shaman has a little, but not much to help you do what you are doing. When you compare to other trees, fire has Mage/Shaman/Warlock, Holy has Paladin/Priest, Shadow has Warlock/Priest so those types of builds go into outer space on modifiers since they can double up from multiple trees. In the future, there might be some Frost DK talents to help, but right now, it seems frost is not in a great spot, here or A52 (outside of pvp). I know on A52, Legacy of the Arcanist is really popular due to the ease of play and high dps, not from the abilities, but from the meteors that proc as you cycle elemental abilities. I don't know if Elune has the individual meteors (like call down a meteor when you cast an ice spell). If so, that is definitely something worth looking into. There might be bits and pieces of LREs from A52 that you can find/roll here like from Spell Shredder (ice), Warden of Demonreach (arctis), or White Walker. (I haven't done much on Elune after Chapter 1, so just throwing ideas out there).

I liked the first chapter, loved the second chapter, and now I am infatuated with the third. Something about digging for gold and slotting in the last puzzle pieces really speaks to me. Although, it's now starting to feel like area 52 now with how easy it is to get the perfect build going especially if you were sitting on mounds of gold for all the daily turn-ins. I witnessed a tank today literally out DPS the entire party combined with 33 ST dps as well as pull the entire last room of Shadow Labyrinth before Murmur... OWTL goes kinda hard. People always praise the devs for being on top of balance but I just dont see it when every dungeon/manastorm group has a 2H OWTL spec'd . It 100% lost its classic WoW feel and is now more akin to Last Epoch or Diablo. I never did like classic wow so I see this as an absolute win!

Nice to See Ascensionvideo from you again. Scrolls of furtune : you get them by nearly doing everything, but one of the fastest ways is to rush manastorms, you"l get them for completion, from the custom lootmobs that spawn sometimes while running, also when you run Manastorms while lvling or prestiging(normally you always find a big group of ppl running together calling it "MS leveling" it's much easier to get the build you want, because you get more Scrolls than normal leveling which means you can Control the meta rolling for abilitys and Talents much better , also from Raids when they are up, and Yeah as you know callboardquests, also while you run, you also collect Scrolls for the buildslots that your not actively running, so the "Grind" even makes building other builds easier

I honestly liked ascension more before wildcard. In some ways I even like it more before the enchants. It still felt like wow where you just made your own class. Now it feels more like its own game something more akin to Poe just in the wow engine

I so welcome of this, although I love ascencion project and their awesome job of free pick/experimental classes, its just too much data for my brain xD, need something I know and can handle with some changes. I maxed a one of the og classes back then in season 8 i think when it was implemented, when season ended character was sent to area52 and stopped playing ascension =( Looking foward for this, getting back to ascension as soon as this goes live!

IIRC Hydricles should give you multiple conductor stacks. Full 3 per cast if there's 3 mobs. So you could do Waternova > Chain lightning > Hydricles > Chain Lightning > Hydricles > Chain Lightning. When I played Hydromancer in previous season I stacked a ton of chain lightning modifiers giving me sub 2sec CD and it hits like 30 things a cast cause of Forked Lightning, and Endless Lightning x3. PS: I _never_ used Hailstorm/Blizzard. Was never worth the cast time because ADHD tanks. Never used frostfall because pre-S9. More PS: Was a hydromancer enjoyer. One change they made was water nova having it's CD reduced based on chain lighting, so you could actually upkeep the doused on big packs very easily. One last PS: One thing I hope is for a free-pick server based on S9's "RE's are talents and abilites now" setup. That would pull me back in 900%.

Not going to lie, this chapter sucks. Without mystic enchants being where your build counts from you are stuck relying on rolling each ability individual making the RNG so much worse. At least last chapter you only needed to get one spell to make a really good and fun builds cause you could by mystic enchants of the AH to make the spell pump. ive run over 20 times and have yet to ever get focused burst, or bone arrow to make my build work. its absolutely insane not to meant unless you bis out and enchant your guy out the butt when lvling you stop doing any damage in pvp after lvl 40, ruins the lvling experience, im the least please with this chapter then any chapter so far.

glad ur giving it a try again, youre gonna want to grab all the talents that increase your damage by % amounts. its how top builds perform and if you dont have them in pvp it hinders you a lot. iirc they added a chance that open world mobs can drop reroll scrolls or you can farm the manastorm to get gear and tons of scrolls that way, and as always you can spend your currency to buy more at silas :)

Yeah ngl, what you said towards the end of the video is why I have a hard time keeping up with ascension. I played OG ascension waaaay back in the day. Came back (a few times) and it didnt really seem like it was intuitive to play. Which is why Im looking forward to COA/bronzebeard?. Ascension makes great content w/o a doubt, prolly the best there ever was.. its just the classless is so intense it almost doesnt make sense to me, but thats just from not being a vet. But Id rather have ascension content with a more defined way to play, personally.

Maaaan OG ascension was like a breath of fresh air. Doing world pvp when rolling something as simple as sprint could make you a god among men. One high risk kill giving you like 2 levels of xp 😂 and people actually went out in the world to fight. Southern barrens was hype. Was a whole new world compared to classic. Before the 1-60 aura FoK sweats became the norm.

I like ascension because it's so creative, however when i make a dungeon it's really not fun when i just have to walk behind the other guys and i can't even cast 1 spell, it's so massively unbalanced... And the open world is not well populated, because everybody rushes to the engame with all the instanced modes...

I genuinely like the random aspect of wildcard, it always interesting to see what comes up and if it will synergize with what you already have. I have a paladin base right now with support from the shaman elemental summon and a splash of priest and warrior

Random tallent's was a deal breaker for me. I gave it another try today and I didn't like it at all. It's just a casino game right now. And let's be real for Area 52, it's not the main realm, most people don't want to play there. The best way for me to express that is just by simply not playing the game and that's what I will do.

Your ISP doesn’t own the copyright to WoW. Also, you’re not violating anyone’s copyright more by playing a modified version of the game. If streaming a game violates copyright, streaming retail WoW also violates copyright equally. So you should just tell your ISP that they’re wrong.

Also i didn't get a great look at the two in your MT group, but I think that they were basically one with the light and pure phys warrior. Both of which have been relatively over performing for how straight forward the builds are for pretty much all of S9. The only other two builds that immediately come to mind are pet damage stacking felguard and shadow rogue were insanely powerful and never truly nerfed.

The issue with classless is you can stack to meny modifyers and how they apply. So lets say frostbolt do 100dmg you get an talent that increase it by 20% so now 120 then you get an ability that double frost dmg now 240 then increase it by 5% 5 times =306 then auto crit with a crit *1,5 459 then an ability that increase crit dmg by 50% 700. So with a few abilites and talents you gone from 100->700. In ascension you can stack so meny things to make what shoud be low dmg spell to insta gib spells becouse they get bonus from lots of wierd diffrent talents/abilities. The only way to "fix" ascension is kinda remove all passives or something similar major change that they prob never will do.

Yeah, it’s just too much randomness. Having random spells but being able to pick your talents wasn’t THAT bad since rolling for abilities was much easier. But honestly I just wish Area 52 was the most popular and main mode. Ascension has so many interesting ways to play and being able to try all of them however you want is super fun. Like in Wildcard right now it’s nearly impossible to play the way you want or even make something work that you don’t want because of randomness. You’re stuck rolling for days on end to pray that you get something you need. I love holy melee builds like OWTL or Cons Strikes, so I tried to play one in Wildcard. It literally took me weeks to get something as core to the build as Seals of the Pure. Ascension really needs to rethink how they do these seasons to allow people to play the way they want.

If you just give Ascension devs a small payment of 3000$ you too can do 20k dps because youve gotten every card and enough rolls to get one of their premium builds, and access to a secret discord where they admit that they are greedy and made a shitty gacha season because they saw the opportunity to get a new maserati

I haven't played Ascension for a while, but I DO absolutely despise monetization schemes that portray themselves as video games. When I used to play on Area 52, it wasn't a problem.
