Istria is a paradise for people who love history and food. On the history side we visited hill towns that that have been the witness to history from the Roman Legions, the Venetian traders and Napoleon's Army. We saw one of the best preserved Roman amphitheater and saw St. Mark's Lion, the symbol of Venice, on so many cities and towns. We tasted the region's great wines, learned the right way to taste olive oil and hunted truffles with a truffle dog.
