I begin this chapter by explaining the importance of being thorough with your application.
Because you don’t have any peroxide to help you open up the hair and deposit colour, YOU need to be THOROUGH
You don’t have the peroxide working for you, if you miss something, it stays missed.
You wont walk away, let this colour process and its all going to be fine… NO that’s not how it works.
You need to be about 2-3 x more thorough with your application of direct dyes then you normally would with tint.
Double application! This is a technique I use quite often. I do this by applying the colour, scraping off the excess product and then re applying fresh product to the hair… key work

But you can clearly see how the dye works. The green pigment goes straight into my skin, while the conditioner base it was delivered in gets left behind
Knowing how these direct dyes work is crucial to understand how to blend colours!
Make sure when it come to colour melting you overlap your colours.
Don’t rely on simply rubbing the colours together to merge them…. It doesn’t really work.
