That’s the hardest part to conceptualize. The ability to deceive a person on such a level is demonic. To keep up a facade for years or even decades is beyond inhumane.

Exactly I agree. It actually hurts. But it teaches you that Mental Illness is real. The narcissist is really weak emotionally they just disguise it.

@@kayfleming5180 I know right! In my case it was only 3 months but the amount of damage was a lot to heal from. I can only imagine how people who have been with a narc for decades or married and had children with one are hurting.

You are exactly right! They are very deceptive & deceitful! It hurts when you look back like this person being lying and never cared for me the entire time!!!

It pains me cause i am going through the process of accepting i have been decieved we have 3 children and i now know about the narc i feel as though i can stop think bout the things he did pass a decade Sometimes i can not think clearly. That has damage me in every way and i am trying to find myself cause i lost it somewhere. Thank Yah i am still here finding knowledge.

I been with two. The second was really good so no I was fooled, there not all the same. Some are so good you won’t know for a few years.

I believe she means once you come to the realization that you were dealing with a narcissist you began to discover narcissists qualities and can discern other narcissist. I dealt with three before I discovered narcissism and now I can definitely discern one, not necessarily easily but when the Lords Spirit is within you you will know by their fruits. And if you love God you won’t be deceived because you’ll be so focused on His law and righteous path amen.

@Jade S. yes!! My sister's husband is a narcissist! He's horrible! He fuses all the time like a woman! Nags about everything. He doesn't like waiting in line. He blows off the handle about the slightest inconvenience. He only thinks about himself and his needs! My sister is stressed, overworked, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed and it's all because of that man!! Something happens to women that don't put their foot down. She's now a shell of who she used to be. He governs everything! She used to have a good job as a surgical tech, but he removed her, claiming they were making too much money and made her quit!!! She got breast implants to HIS liking, rushed her to make a decision about them too. She got really sick with covid, and we were all super worried, would you believe he got upset at her because by being sick, they were behind on their product, they have a business. She slept in the living room and not once did he check up on her to see how she was doing. She would call me telling me how scared she was because her oxygen levels were going down and she felt that her lungs and heart were getting weak. He thought she was just being dramatic!!! Fucking bastard I can't stand him! No one in our family liked him! He manipulates her. Buys her things and when he gets mad, he destroys them! Calls her all kinds of names when he gets mad. It's my sister's fault for putting up with him.. I'm tired of telling her to leave him. She complains about him alllll the time, from day 1 and it's been 14 years!!! I no longer entertain her bs. She has to feel the lack of support in order to really come to.

When does that happen? I’ve been divorced 6 years and cannot get rid of him for more than a few months at a time and he’s back ( trying to be back anyway)🙄

Sounds like at that time, the counselors weren’t aware of this personality disorder as many are now. Thank God for advancements in the mental health field. I’m sure a few may have thought back and had realizations..you know your truth. That’s what I had to realize eventually.

If the children are still underage do the best you can to avoid the NARC, they will manipulate and poison any relationship connected you. Just ghost them If that NARC Anit bothering you don’t ever bother them period….

You will get better. I know it's hard but you must keep moving forward in tears. I also have two children and I put up with him for 30 years. and looking back I'm glad he left me when my kids were young because I was able to raise our two beautiful children that are truly good young adults.

Your post sounded like I wrote it. I spend 10 months with a narcissist also. I was out of there before the 1 year mark. I loved the guy but couldn't put myself through it anymore. The signs were clear. He had some deep rooted issues that had nothing to do with me. I love me too much to keep in my space such level of toxicity and disruptive state. It was a lesson well learnt. I am stronger and more resilient. My pain wasn't wasted. Cheers to our freedom. x

Going through the EXACT SAME THING FOR 3 YEARS- I ACTED OUT BECAUSE HIS LACK OF CARE AND ACCOUNTABILITY. NO EFFORT OR RECIPROCATION yet he asked for small favors and I wasn't getting anything out of it- I'm trying to leave him and forget but it feels overwhelming and my heart breaks anytime I think about him I keep blocking him then unblocking 😢

I told my Narcissist Husband the same thing he treats me like I'm the Enemy and he hate women he never stayed in a relationship with anyone he loves being around men

I have been in a 2 year relationship. I love him. We were seeing each other and communicateing regularly but now it's only when he wants, he use to make an effort now it's only texts messages usually emojis only. I pull back, but he leans in. Occasionally, he will do these things for me: help me financially, give me money, help me around the house like mow the grass put together a bunkbed. Then he will disappear and not communicate but only when he wants. He has never been abusive not in speech or action but refuses to make plans, or keep plans, or voice call or make any effort in the relationship, but says he cares about me and misses me. He says he's going through hardships, is damaged and he can't communicate regularly, he says he just doesn't operate that way. I am exhausted. What am I dealing with?
