Not exactly a tease, the whole book is being released on ToR chapter by chapter, weekly. Only a month to go now, so around 4 or 5 chapters left. It's massive, and a complete new way of "advertising". It's a very interesting choice, only a well- known author of his statute can afford. I wonder if this is a kind of Thank You to his readers, because he was so deeply touched by the way the kickstarter went beyond all expectations? (But then, the release by chapter began in August..so..maybe not).

@@ChristmasLore he did this for the Oathbringer release back in 2017 as well. Also it's just part 1 of 5 in the entire book, not the whole book

I love Michael Kramer's voice work, especially as Wayne in Mistborn era 2.

I believe I might buy a copy too, later, maybe for Christmas- times are hard.

Kate and Michael are absolutely superb narrators, and have given those of who love to read but have visual problems, a reason to love books all over again. I consume about 4 "regular sized" books a week, or only 1 1/2 Stormlight Archive sized book a week, every week. I started with Sanderson's books and it was a great way to start my Audible journey.

There is also a version done on graphic audio that is absolutely amazing

@@captainkal2582 definitely my favorite author at the moment. Randomly read the first Mistborn years ago and have been hooked since. Waited on Stormlight because I was burnt bad on Game of Thrones and almost smoked on Wheel of Time but finally cracked earlier this year and blew through the first 3 on audiobook because Sanderson has proven he can be trusted to write the books. Went through the Reckoners too.

As someone who's been reading these as they've come out. It better not be half the book, it's just getting started! 😂 There's maybe 10-12is hours in these first 16 chapters. It's supposed to be like a 54 hour audiobook

It's like a publicity stunt. You feed them the first 20% and the scramble to buy the rest.

He usally releases the first part of stormlight books for free, I think this is the first time part of the audibook is released though, which is cool!

He does this cuz he loves his fans! Got my physical copy preordered and my audiobook and I'm reading the preview chapters!

He releases one chapter per week for a few months before the release date, ultimately resulting in all of Part 1 being released (1/5 of the book) online for free. This is because he's a nice guy and he wants people to be able to try his books out, buuuuuuuut it's also just really good marketing. It's super smart. It keeps the discussion of the books alive, the community is reading every new chapter together and thinking about it for a whole week. Normally, the book comes out, and all the hardcore readers already have all the answers on day one. But now, people can find things out together and talk about them. It's just great for everyone involved, more publicity for the book, a stronger community, and it gradually builds *so much* hype for the release.

@@izzya8132 , is it, good marketing? As it's so new, still will have to study the results. It's a really nice gesture no doubt, but also, he's probably one of the very few author than can afford such a strategy right now. It's more like he's experimenting. Also, he's highly aware the market is evolving quick, with all the different medias and supports available. So, he's banking on readers using them all, at a time or another ( hardcovers, audio, e books), but ultimately falling for one of the nice leather editions and/or signed copies. Also, even if he's for sure a businessman, with a whole team depending on him, I believe him to really have something like...real "christian values", and a wish for people accessing culture for free when they can't afford any other of the formats? Very well could be. As I wrote, he can now afford it. I would enjoy a long video explaining in details his latest marketing decisions.

I know, right. I’m no psychologist but I really doubt that it’s healthy. Also Veil gets on my nerves.

I'm getting really annoyed with the new Shallan. I hope she gets over this.
