CHAR CLOTH FIRE🔥

I tried out a new-to-me fire starting method using flint, steel, and char cloth. After getting the hang of striking just right, I was able to get the fire going quite easily - you can see my 'proud of me' moment 😅.
The day was overcast but so beautiful, and the sound of the wind through the treetops gave the loveliest ambient sound all afternoon. I was even lucky enough to be visited by a couple ravens - you can hear them calling in the treetop scene!

Thank you! It was my first time getting a fire going with this method. Took a bit but actually wasn't as bad as I thought.... And yes I love my axe. Do you have one?

@@MistyMountainGirl Yeah.. I have an old Swedish hatchet that has been with me for a long time and recently I purchased another Finnish axe Billnäs 12.1 ..Looking forward to try it in the woods:)

Very nice! I am taking my time trying to learn the art of the axe safely. I need to practice splitting more. The small forest axe does ok with splitting... But I'd love to get their dedicated splitter. I'm fairly new to all this. Just don't want to lose a limb.

@@MistyMountainGirl Please be careful when practicing with an axe... I lost a lot of blood doing this;)

It's definitely my fav. I'm still getting used to it tbh. I try to keep it as sharp as possible which seems to work best for taking off branches. It's definitely a work of art. I've though about getting the hatchet .. but my knife does most of that work that would.

Do you ever do overnight trips? Also, are you cold with just those leggings on?😊 I enjoy the videos.

I have done many overnight trips yes... I will be filming some soon when the snow is gone. It's been a mild winter in Canada this year so the leggings haven't been that bad.

I made char cloth and used a steel striker with a flint rock. It was my first time and took a few tries but got it. I will make a video just on that soon.

I like your videos. You don't jump around in underwear or bikini in the snow like so many other girls do this and then the men controlled by testosterone write comments. You need more training in the nature...but experience grows with every action 🙂 I like being in nature, quietly, so that even animals hardly notice you 🙂
@MistyMountainGirl
@MistyMountainGirl 3 месяца назад
Yep, that's why I keep getting out there - just learning and practicing skills that I really enjoy. Being out in nature recharges me. I didn't grow up doing this stuff, and I used to think there's no way I could do these kinds of things. So I'm enjoying surprising myself haha. I've got lots to learn. Hopefully I can inspire some people to get out there and see what they can do, too ☺️
