Sublime drone shots you western superstar, I myself know nothing of mushrooms so I'd be too terrified to try. The wild cherries and mulberries of Ontario are starting to fall from the trees though, so I'll just play it safe and catch them. Also, do these Moral Mushrooms judge you for decisions that they'd never make? ;)
@@MistyMountainGirl Thanks, I grew up by Niagara Falls and it's become ordinary to a lot of us who're around it so much, it's good to get a reminder of the profound beauty that surrounds us. I don't even need to Google BC to know it's stunning, if I was there I'd be chilling at Pitt Lake lots and possibly looking for Slumach's gold, lol.
@@MistyMountainGirl Thanks my friend, I'm out in my tent tonight with Tucker, a shower of rain got us in the tent early lol. Got poor coverage here won't play videos hopefully these comments will work lol. Hope you have an awesome week.
excellent video, so peaceful and calming. I just recently found your channel and am looking forward to catching up on all of them. I love the way you present nature with the way you do your videography! Looking forward to watching more. By the way... if you don't mind me asking.... what kind of legging/pant are you wearing? They look super comfortable and I can't find any like those anywhere?
What a great video. I can not beleave you brought in that large cutting board and griddle, but it made for a great meal, "set before a queen ", nice. I enjoyed the flint and steel fire build and the drone sunset😊. You now have a new sub. I will catch up on your videos and hope to see more. Thanks for taking the time and effort.
Thank you so much! Haha yes, canoe camping is much more luxurious than alpine camping. It’s not a big deal to bring some extra weight in the canoe and so worth it 😊
@MistyMountainGirl your welcome, your young and beautiful be safe stay away from creepy dudes follow your gut feelings, if it right don't do it our little precious ange keep up the great videos .
@@MistyMountainGirl Not exactly sure. It was a provincial park along the KVR, on the way to Rock Creek. It was part of my across Canada tour (It's on RU-vid under the Title "Destination Canada 150".
The devastation is horrendous!! Our son was out west last year(Northern Alberta) fighting the wild fires and pictures/the "news" tells & shows nothing to what really happened. If folks only knew. Thanks for another great video.
Lucky girl you are with all those nice morels, they are so good and so rares! I can imagine all the recipes you can do with it! With a good «sauce forestière», a glass of a good burgundy, let your imagination run 😋Enjoy!
Wow what devastation indeed , especially those root holes that was wicked. I am amazed with the greenery that was there , but far cry from what was there. Great find on the mushrooms 🍄 it's something I wish I had some experience at. You have awesome cinematography skills, the angles you get are professional quality. Its amazing when things go well the rain doesn't matter lol. Have an awesome weekend my friend.
The root holes were wild. I have never seen anything like it, almost other worldly! But yes, the grasses and flowers (and mushrooms 😊) were very beautiful, and there were a lot of singing birds which gave some feelings of hope. Thank you for noticing the filming 🤍
@MistyMountainGirl, will you be careful out their little angeal better if not you will make me make me worrie I don't want that❤.I love my certain u tubers. You have a beautiful personality keep being real and a real personality never change, you go girlfriend 🎉😊😊😊😊😊😊😊.
That must have been one serious fire. Part of the circle of life for the forest. I would take those mushrooms and saute in avacado oil with lots of fresh garlic add a pinch of red pepper flakes. Then at the end add parsley and pecorino romano cheese, salt, pepper and then mix with a nice pound of rigatoni pasta. It's really good. Great video! 😊❤🥰
That's a great idea and I'll try them that way. I dehydrated them all so they will last until I'm ready for my meals. Unfortunately this fire was human caused. Destroyed so much 🥺
Sorry for another comment. Sometines instead of pasta for camping I use those Knorrs pastas you add water to. The garlic shells one is a good match with the mushrooms I mentioned. Easy when on the trail. Good luck.
Thanks for taking the time to watch my videos 🤗 please like and subscribe if it's something you are into! Let me know other things you would like to see. ❤
Loved that evening drone shot and the sounds of the frogs and loons, quintessential "north woods". Sweet tent, seemed like an easy setup and luckily no more bad weather. I appreciate it when folks use the alternative methods for starting fires. I have taken to using my ferro rod instead of a lighter, there's just something satisfying about starting fires like that. The rod is also quicker than the flint n steel method for me. Almost feels like cheating! Nice vid, cool spot.
The loons were sooooo nice. I definitely think I would struggle using the flint and steel if my tinder was damp. Generally I'm also using the Ferro rod. You must camp a lot ? What part of the world do you live in? Thanks for watching 🤗
@@MistyMountainGirl Unfortunately, due to a TBI from a car accident I can't camp or travel like I want to and used to. But I live in Colorado and, though I know it well, I'm still discovering very cool places. I have a basic pickup truck camper and try to get out every few weeks, but I cook and warm with an outdoor fire when camping, and as often as I can I set up to sleep under the stars, my favorite thing of all. BC is out near my daughter, who you remind me of, and I hope to be out there this summer. Safe travels, I'll be tuning in!
Just a comment about paddling solo in a two person canoe. Trust me, this is not a criticism or a right vs wrong sort of thing, just something to try for yourself. Spin the canoe around. Sit on the front seat, but face the back of the canoe. This will put you a little more towards the center for balance, but not exactly in the middle. It provides a little more stability and control. Plus, it’s a little easier on the knees! I’m closer to 50 than I am to 40, I’ll take all the comfort I can get, 😄👍 Also, nice call starting the fire with flint & steel even though you had a lighter! Always good to practice that stuff when it’s not critical. Psychologically,, now you have the ability to say “I’ve done it before, I can do it again” Awesome video!
Thank you so much! I definitely need more practice with the canoe...sitting in the bow facing the stern is a great call for sure. I'll give that a try. The wind was blowing me around pretty good even with a light breeze. I'm going to keep practicing. Thank you for taking the time to watch 🤗
My first time watching. I just subscribed! Great video! Your mic and camera must be great quality because wow! Also love how you started the fire without using the lighter that too is a goal of mine. How do you keep your emotions at bay when you’re sleeping at night? Like I always worry of spider snakes or wildlife….
Hey! Thanks so much 🤗. I love my camera, I wouldn’t say it’s top of the line but it’s been great. It's a Nikon Z6 and I use the DJI wireless mics. I do love the Nikon colours. Also we only have rattle snakes and the black widow here...and where I was there was none. It's the bears and Cougars I worry about. You can get a striker kit on Amazon for pretty cheap... Took me a few tries but eventually got it. I'm thinking about giving the bow drill a shot next 😬. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch. Have an awesome day.
@@MistyMountainGirl you have an awesome day too! Love your videos! Glad you are here! I’m looking for camera gear so I will have to check the Nikon out! The wireless mic did an amazing job
You did a really good job with your video! You are right, the sound of the Loons is very relaxing. With all of the cut logs, is someone going to build a cabin? Thanks for taking the time to put the video together for us to enjoy! Take care!
Thank you so much! There is a lot of deadfall on the island, looks like someone put some time into building a wind break with it all. It was nice to see that only dead trees were purposely cut, as I came across another spot nearby where someone had cut a bunch of live trees. Maybe I’ll build something at some point ☺️
@@MistyMountainGirl Yes I have ..a lot...I do 1800's primitive stuff...Bow drills take quite a bit of practice...ferro rods spark at approx. 4000 degrees - flint steel about 2000 give or take...so ferro rod and back of your carbon steel knife....very successful...lots youtube info on that....work in bad weather as well. better than flint and steel as far as that goes.....good luck and have fun with it all!
Totally agree. I'm hoping to get more on the ocean soon. I would definitely be nervous about canoeing ocean water. For the lakes the canoe is great so far... I'm still learning tho. Do you kayak much ?
