I love the part about him saying “every soul will be weighed”, referring to Anubis weighing hearts against and ostrich feather. They did their Egyptian research.

The English VA for Cyno used to voice act in our videos many years ago. Crazy how far you've come Alejandro! Going to be weird hearing your voice in game!

Putting all his jokes aside, Cyno is supposed to be a scary, authoritative character, and this shows in the visuals, music and the voice acting. Love it

The aura he has is like no other. His music is powerful yet sinister in a good way. His voice is iconic, his sentences show how he IS just like Anubis - the one that decides what will happen to mortals after their end. How god-like.💜

I don't know why, but at 0:26 when the eye moves from side to side and cyno says "every soul will be weighed" it gives me shivers.

The feather is a great detail. Cyno’s design is based on Anubis. Anubis is sort of like a keeper to the duat (underworld in Egyptian mythology). He also decides what kind of afterlife one goes to. He does this by weighing the heart/soul of those who pass with a feather. If the heart is lighter than a feather, then they get the nice afterlife. If it is heavier than the feather, then the heart is eaten by Anubis’s pet. Considering Cyno’s theme of “judgement”, this works exceptionally well. Excellent attention to detail as always, Hoyoverse. Edit: time for the cheesy thanks for the likes. Never thought I’d be top comment on a Genshin video but here we are and it feels good. So thanks! ❤️

Damn Cyno's voice actor is killing it. HoYo are slaying it with their voice cast lately!

Fun fact, while we can all see that his design is based off Anubis, Cyno’s own name is itself a reference of its own. His name is taken from the term “cynocephaly” which literally means “dog-headed” and is used to reference men who had the heads of canids, usually of a dog or jackal.

His eng va is like Itto, Mona, and Zhongli. They're literally able to exude the personality of their characters thru their voices. Such powerful voices. Cyno EN is definitely one of my fave en dub along with Zl, Itto, Mona, and Eula now.

0:26 I love how I first percieve this as a spotlight waving around on him but then realize it also doubles as an eyeball with it's pupil looking around, looking for sinners and whatnot.

They got the perfect voice for him. He sounds serious without being overly edgy. I wish Xiao had gotten the same treatment. I love Laila, don’t get me wrong, but the direction they gave her makes Xiao sound angry all the time.

When I saw how Cyno holds the eremite and casually throws him away, it makes me think how incredibly strong Genshin playable characters are. For example, despite how petite Xiangling is, the way she attacks with her spear far surpasses any of the trained soldiers in a nation's army.

That transition at 0:39 from the strings in the background that make you feel uneasy to the acoustic guitar pick and then the bass kick was TO DIE FOR. My God their music keeps getting better with every trailer

idk how to put this into words but the bgm for this character demo is so unique that it's like a wave themed electronic slapped with a subtle rhythmic bass that keeps your head bobbing to the rhythm while you vibe with it i never heard of a bgm like this one before but im already addicted to it

Cyno’s sense of justice, paired with his desire to make a joke is absolutely comical. One minute, we have one of my favourite kinds of badass character, and then now another one of my favourites, a character who makes dad jokes. Wonderful l.

This is the most incredible character video. I love the Egyptian theme. And then there's a character with an Anubis mask. Every soul will be weighed. How gorgeous it sounds! I will try very hard to catch this character and I wish everyone good luck.

I love the Anubis references. The feather and his phrase "all souls shall be weighed" alludes to how Anubis weighs your heart against a feather to discern if you're worthy to enter the afterlife.

I love everything about him his design, his theme, his playstyle, he's so much fun to use idc what anyone says abt him, I do enjoy his playstyle and his character as a whole.

OMG CYNO'S THEME SLAPS!!! His character demo is amazing and the whole Anubis inspiration is fantastic! Sumeru really is having the best OST in all of genshin, between Port Ormos theme, Candance and Cyno's theme it has become my favorite region soundtrack

I’ve been wanting him ever since I started playing and read the manga that everyone suggested to new players. And the way I lost my sh*t when I finally got him and checked his profile to see he has the exact same birthday as me

1:40 When you see the fact that a massive explosion is made by Cyno alone makes you wonder if he is strong enough to stand up against a harbinger, those types of explosions you don't really see often in the game (I only remember Childe and or Traveler in the opening cutscenes)

The most badass character in Genshin, after Neuvillete

Love how Cyno says “Every soul shall be weighed”, as his headpiece represents a Jackal, and the Egyptian god Anubis has the head of a Jackal. Anubis is the god of the Necropolis, and he weighed the hearts of the dead to determine whether or not they are worthy of entering the Field of Reeds (which is basically the Egyptian’s heaven).

Cyno character is so interesting and his Character Demo doesn’t disappoint. Good job Mihoyo!

if i was just starting the game and hadnt seen any character before and you told me that cyno was the electro archon i would absolutely believe you.

This is my fourth Genshin character demo as someone who does not play Genshin but started seeing these on my feed, and I am still impressed. The music strikes, once again, as entirely fitting to the inspirations of the character as well as the character design with regards to Egyptian history and culture. Thank you for this wonderful bit of music and cinematography. Edit: Oh wow, thank you so much for all the likes and recommendations! I'm making a list right now of all the ones everyone has said, soundtracks included, so I'll try to make my way through them and see what I think! Since someone asked, the other three before this were Candace's, Zhongli's, and the Raiden Shogun's, heh. I enjoyed them all! I might play the game in the future, so hopefully there's not too many spoilers in the rest of these. 😅

This demo feels so different and I can't put my finger on as to why I love it. Don't know if it's just me but this demo gives such villainous vibes

i love the little details of the crows, which is a symbolism of darkness and death but also "change" and "transformation" it's also believed that crows would carry the souls of the dead to the other side very much like Anubis (a clear reference to his design) 💕

At long last a 2nd Electro male character as a 5 star like a junior Pharoah. I personally like his fangs and when he extends his arm into the enemies faces, his pose... All of it is just too amazing

I love to see Alejando is now voicing Cyno. I really loved his performance as Yuri in FE3H and I really look forward to Cyno's appearences in the story

GOD the Anubis visuals are AMAZING!!! The attention to detail with the Egyptian Gods are amazing too, loving the statues of Amit and Khonshu! I love Cyno so much I can’t wait to finally get him!!!!

He is just like anubis, it’s crazy

The fact that me, my little brother & sister have been waiting forever for him to make an appearance in the game, ever since we saw him in the trailer of all nations. Something about him just makes me so attached to his character, the story, the design and appearance in overall. Maybe mostly because he is the main character of the Sumeru, like how Diluc is of Monstadt, Ningguang for Liyue and Ayaka for Inazuma. I really love how much detail Hoyoverse has put out on their characters; especially since they make them as realistic as in reality based on the world’s mythology. Cyno is for instance, is heavily inspired by Anubis, Egyptian mythology!! It’s so interesting because we players, even somehow we don’t notice it, we are learning so much about culture of this world, whilst all throughout playing this game; for free :) hoyoverse really is pulling it !!!! 😌😌 Inshallah let’s hope I’ll get Cyno

the music sounds like it's slowly crippling to me. It may not be the typical "goes hard" but it's haunting and hypnotizing, almost like it's trying to reveal something much much bigger than it sounds little by little without trying to scare you away in an instant. It doesn't activate your sense of danger until it's too late to run away. the one thing that never disappoint in genshin is their music.

Best designed Sumeru character. The concept, the design, the personality, even the gameplay perfectly suit not only the lore of the world but also its culture. Plus, he's absolutely cool and awesome as heck. That's legit one of the most epic elemental burst in the game.
