If you have received mercy from God, you must live your life for God. If you have truly been saved by the grace of God, then you have also been changed by the power of God and should be continually growing in godly characteristics that reflect the Savior, Jesus Christ. Your life should increasingly be characterized by deep love, fiery passion, relentless determination, and generous care.
This is what it means to be a disciple of Christ: to be one who is growing in Christ-likeness. We should be maturing in deep love for one another, a kind of familial love that is characterized by a heartfelt sincerity and a culture of honor. We should be people whose fiery passion is seen in our spirit and in our service to the Lord. Our relentless determination should be expressed through joy-filled hope, steadfastness in suffering, and unceasing prayer. Lastly in this passage of Scripture, our generous care should be shown by meeting needs of the Church family and by showing hospitality to any Christian who comes along.
