I really think it should have doomed the waters of life quest. Kinda like Morrowind when you kill that Blade Cassius. The game prompts you: "With this character's death, the thread of prophecy is severed." You can continue in your own doomed world.

truth be told Liam Nesson acts like this because he's so focused on the Water Purification project that he doesn't even have the time to scold you. The point is that he's a neglectful parent. Which is also the reason we may become evil in our playthrough.

Man I hated the Tenpenny Tower quest. You more or less get punished for doing the right thing by letting in a persecuted minority group (The ghouls) into the tower, and once Roy's gang are settled in they genocide all the inhabitants, good or bad. So the only choice you have as a "good character" is to take the lesser of two evils and take out Roy and his gang, but you're judged by Three Dog even though he doesn't know the actual situation of it.

It's karma-based. When I played as a female, he didn't believe me when I had low karma, but he did when I had high karma.

Oh, forgot to mention, I will also kill Burke and Tempenny afterwards and give the tower to the ghouls, Megaton is full of dummies, but Tempenny tower is full of bastards

The things been sitting there for over 200 years and everyone knows it, if it weren't for the player its likely nothing would've happened, or Simms would've found someone to disarm it because he always greets newcomers

@@thetaai8262 yah, but I wouldn't risk it, they could have found so many other places, it's not like there wasnt space to build, and Simms would've found someone to disarm it like it did with the absolute stranger that blow it up? he is way too much trustworthy and I don't like a simple "likely" separating me from blowing up in the sleep

seriously, this is one of bethesdas biggest screw ups with this game. megaton is one of the 3 major settlements in the entire game, besides that it was a NUCLEAR EXPLOSION and shouldve been seen all across the wasteland

@@largewings Nuclear explosions vary greatly in their power. This one seemed more like a tactical nuke. You can watch old videos of Davy Crocketts exploding in the 1960s; they weren't particularly spectacular from afar.

The vaults are specifically designed to be impervious to nukes but yes it probably should’ve collapsed the cave leading to it

Well to be fair, the radioactive half life of the materials in a nuke are pretty low. So after 200 years of sitting there, there’s probably a lot less fissile material left. In all honesty it’s a miracle there’s enough left to even go critical.

It completely depends on that weapon's yield. Some nuclear weapons aren't very powerful. The weakest ones are comparable to strong conventional bombs.

At the end of the day, most people don't realise that you can just run away in these games and come back as everyone would act like nothing happened (although not sure if it works in TES Games due to the bounty system those games have)

They already have that. Just put away your weapon and any accidental attacks will be forgiven.

Casual reminder that megaton is effectively a bandit resthome. The doctor is a slaver from paradise falls, people like jericho are a dime-a-dozen - hell, just look at Moriarty's computer. He hires you as a hitman if you ask him for work. The guy working at the food shop downstairs is a jet dealer. The point is that it's basically one of the nastiest places in the waste, and that's why it gets left alone.

You’re right though. It’s bad world building on Bethesda’s part. They have little protection, yet the slavers haven’t attacked them yet, despite being possibly the biggest target. On top of that, they have no reason to be rich or snobby. They haven’t built wealth off of anything.

True but fatmen and mini nukes are extremely rare. Wasting one on tenpenny just wouldn't be worth it most of the time. Thankfully we're the lone wanderer and we have the protag powers so we just find them all over

Gay idea, Fallout is already the catastrophic effect of a nuclear-caused war.

Eh, there's a lot worse. Thier deaths were painless and instant. There's things you do in WoW for s simple side quest that are worse murder a town and plant flags in their corpses for example. You can't even kill kids, which Fallout 2 lets you do. Those damn kids were still just running around in the crater going AHH help! because they are immune to all.

Lmao, this is like the only villain thing you can do in the game and it has almost no consequences, New Vegas is way WAY better for this kind of things (and a way better game overall).

fallout 3 is not Fallout.

You don't go blind from looking at an exploding nuclear bomb, numbskull. You get blinded. Do you understand the difference? The latter means you won't be able to see, the former means you lose your vision - permanently. The radiation also doesn't spread that far.
