RTS1000 single barrel retort we installed at Birchwood Charcoal on Hereford. This retort will produce around 130Kg's of charcoal per day "pending on what wood feed stock you use". You will see in the film the way we stack the wood ready to turn into charcoal which takes 20mins to load up you will also the venting of the Syn gases. this little retort is ideal for the next stage in charcoal production form a round kiln. You can get upto temperature of 300 - 350 degrees within 2hrs from startup and gassing we normally say 6-8hrs cooking time from gassing. When looking at weekly production of charcoal of this retort work out very well you can produce around on a 5 day week 650kg's or a 7 day week 900kg's that with a normal 4-1 ratio but we have produced with the retort 3.7 - 1. With the price of British Charcoal you should be looking at around £1.35 per kg trade - RRP £2.16 per kg. with 650kg's per week that a nett turnover of £1404.00 on the RRP and Trade £877.50 per week.we are getting more and more request for this little retort
