that company that bought out troy bilt and Bolens was garden way but then garden way filed for bankruptcy and then another company acquired troy bilt and Bolens but I cant think of the name right off hand but anyway I always thought troy bilt was a good product and Bolens I remember my grandma had a 12 horse Bolens riding Lawn mower that she had forever she use to mow her 3 acre yard around her house with it she never had a problem with it other than having to change out a drive belt every other season or replace a plug once in a while but I tell you boy did she love her Bolens.🙂

swully 1976 yes when i had landscaping business with all the cash i made using my 2 troy bilt garden tiller i bought 2 troy bilt 8hp snow blowers and 2 Bolens snow blowers, i rebuilt 2 of the Bolens snow blowers, all new gears an drive chain, after they totally ware out the 2nd time the engeines were done and the body were rusted and ware out, they are in the scrap pile below the barns with one troy bilt, i still have one Troy bilt that needs work, they are great units when it was troy bilt, i got thousands of trouble free hours using commercial, even the tiller had a life time warranty on the gear box, but never had any problems other then normal ware, same with this tractor, cutting deck, an front mount 4" snow blower. they do not make good equipment like any of these any more, even the new troy bilt tiller made today are junk. my dead uncial had a troy bilt tiller 30 years older then my 2, that were built by the real troy bilt. i thing the company that bought up troy bilt is ASV, IT A COMPANY THAT BEEN BUILDING A POWER UNIT SIMILAR TO TROY BILT BUT THEY MAKE A TON OF ATTACHMENTS THAT GO ON IT, i hate them, so heavy to move around. hard to turn, but they scraped all the tractor line, snow blowers, only thing they kept was the tillers but they really did a number on them, making them very cheap, but keep the pricing way up, not at all like they use to be, all my troy bilt equipment worked hard in 40 below, and worked year round trouble free other then normal ware parts, this tractor worked long hoursin many big snow storms 7 feet deep

It was MTS THAT bought out Troy buit/garden way. They trashed the Troy buit law tractors. Self propelled lawn mowers, snow blowers as they had there MTS one. They only bought them out for the tillers. At that they really cut the Quality big time.. Troy built back then had a life time waranty on the tiller transmissions witch have never to this day had a problem useing every day 16 hours a day. The new ones don't last plastic gears an unlike the original tin shaft that were like a big tampered spindle with a key way to hold the tin hubs on. Now it's a 5/8" round shaft with a hole thought 5/8 thin wall pipe as the tin holder an a 5/8 solid shaft with hole though it for the tin locking bolt. You can remove them 2 bolts an till an no way the tins come off. Rusted solid. Unlike the old tampered spindle to this day I can undo the end nut like a hub on a Axel an pop them off to replace the tins on the bench.

I know this is an old video but I came here because I have a Ford LGT 125 with the Eaton 11 hydro. The charge pump is froze up, won't move, and as you experienced can't get the housing off. How ever I do have several of the Bolens Duramax tractors, same as the GTX, & an entire drive setup from a GTX I parted out. So my point is I learned from you that the GTX Eaton may swap into the Ford & something I can look in to, so I can thank you for that info. By the way did you ever get the housing off? I haven't given up yet!

good day, no i never did get it a part, i have to buy a 3rd puller and try grinding the jaws to fit into 2 very tiny slots in the pump housing, i have already bought 2 pullers that i tried to make fit, but it didnt work, i have not looked at it in a long time, once i looked into the price of the charge pump kit, it was $1400 plus tax, then covid hit most likely double that price now and cant get shit, but being i paid 17k for this tractor, a 4 foot snow blower for it and a heavy duty 60 inch comercel mower garden way mower deck i am no about to give up. i will be back on it this summer i hope , for how small this housings, like 2 inchs i cant get over the price ofthat5peacekit..troy bult made the Bolens tractors and snow blower walk behinds, i had 2 of them an2 troy built walk behind snow blows an 2 tillers from back in the day i had my landscaping business an this tractor, though 7 foot snow storms. the Eaton 11 hydro is used in many things and still used today

@@arnoldromppai5395 Thanks for the follow-up, appreciate it. Yep on the parts not available, can't even find a housing gasket, but that can be made, although it appears the thickness sets the clearance on the output gear which in this case is a beveled gear. removed the entire hydro from the tractor & am having trouble getting the drive hub off that you struggled with. On parts cost, repaired a charge pump on a Kubota of my daughter's because the replacement was about $1,400 also. Was able to resurface the rotor wear plate back to tolerances & saved it. Good luck getting through the winter. Been pretty mild here in western PA.

@@skip7243 all the parts are avalable but the part numbers in the parts book that came with the tractor. Witch troy built, garden way, white, were dam good at supplying with every machine. Only problem today is the part numbers have changed up. I am not to worried about wear plates I can always machine up new ones. Most in the troy bilt bollen there brase. Being the charge pump rebuild kit comes with a new housing as there is no sleeve in that tiny 2" or at most 2.5" housing made out of cast steel, not cast iron. I think I going to tack my cutting torch an heat up the bearing just enough that it slides off the shaft. I am just not sure how long that shaft is before it turns to the tapered gear. But in any case the idea is not to get that 3/4" shaft hot as it will expand if it gets hot witch you dont want. You only want the bearing inner part to expand so it slides off. But the hearing is inset about 3/4" in on that housing making it hard not to get the shaft hot. If it was in the open I would weld a small bead around the inner bearing colar like I do with 2 peace roller cone bearings to get the race out. But this bearing is a one peace similer to a sealed bearing but it not a sealed one.or put a 2" steel cutting saw blade on my air die grinder an cut them 2 tiny slots at the base of the housing to make them deeper longer an wider to get pulled jaws a better bit. As they are now they are so shallow narrow you cant get a good hold. I have ground down 2 pullers trying to get that jaws to bit. Once I get it a part an really get to see what the parts look like. I maybe able to match them up to avalable part at a hydrolic shop an if the housing is war being it is cast steel I can build it up with weld an machine it back to spec .. it just makes me agrèe for the few parts that are in the kit an most of them are snap rings an wire retainer witch I have many kits of all sizes. An I am sure I can get the bearing from thunder bay bearing. It been very mild here all winter to. Normaly this time of year were are into 2 months of -25 to -40F but we have not been below -15 and very few days of that. Some night hit -15 but the day been in the 30's down to 12. We had many big snow storms in late Nov. An Dec. But just dustin's ever since. It nuts how much they charge for a few very tiny parts. It is not like the huge charge pumps on big logging eqipment. When this pump went I though oh 2 or $300 at most.. I even looked at getting it from the USA but they want $900 usd by the time I pay the exchange an shipping it be the same price. Now since this covid bs everything had more then doubled in price even on pickup truck parts. The problem with this mild damp weather it really has had me in really bad pain an garden to move walk or do anything even being on my normal 100 mg morphine 3 times a day.. from my 18 foot fall at work to the frozen swomp an busted up my back leg hip at work in the logging camp in 1987. Hope you subbed as more coming.. wish I had the funds tho to get a DGI Sports cam.. trying to do jobs an film with a phone by your self an know real way of setting it up. I have tons of eqipment from my photography days with 35 mm cameras and Hasselblad including Studio lighting but all film cameras

yes it is giving mea hard time, i have tried to put torch heat, but to heat up just the bearing an not the shaft in such a small space is very hard, you dont want the shaft to get hot and expands .. i cant complain, all my troy equipment has given the best service with trouble fee for many year, using it all commercially, another video coming out very soon, up loading.. i have to find the $1400 an tax some were for the parts

IT HAS 2 PTO one out front for snow blow, sweeper, an one under to drive the 60" mower deck but they are run off an electric clutch of the front crank shaft with 3 heavy belts side by side

no, i tried to grin 2 pullers to grab the 2 very tinny thin slots, butt would grab an hold just enough to allow a lot of presser and fly off, cant add heat due to other parts in side, but have not given up, this summer going to try drill an tap 2 holes an try pusher bolts, thanks

@@arnoldromppai5395 I had problem with the bearing being seized on my gtx18 so, I slit the inner race with a cutting torch real quick and threw a cup of water on it and it pulled right off with the modified puller. Realistically, if you put heat on the bearing, there's not much you're going to damage if you do it fast the impeller and rollers can take the heat and you'll have to replace the bearing, shaft seal and two housing seals anyway. When u pull the pump off put a towel underneath because the six pin rollers will fall out. You could pull the pump partially off until you can see the pin rollers and tie a rubber band around them to keep them in the impeller. When I put it back together, I put the pin rollers in the impeller then put a rubber band around them, put a piece of fishing line on the rubber band and slid the pump on until it trapped the rollers, pulled the fishing line and cut the rubber band. Just make sure to rap the shaft with plastic and lube it up before you slide the pump housing with the new seal in it because its easy to damage the seal when it passes over the retaining ring grooves.

Also, the impeller that you described as a Lovejoy coupler isn't rubber but is steel. It has the letter P stamped on it that faces outward towards the front of the tractor. If it gets put on backwards it won't work..​@@arnoldromppai5395

@@umpy3152 I have a few sets of cutting tortchs. I don't like the idea of cutting the bearing as all the Slag will end up in side the cast iron Axel housing with all the oil. Then the whole housing would have to be taken a part an cleaned out to remove all the slag from cutting. 2nd it a very small bearing with the shaft in the center with little to no room to get cutting tip in there never mine try an get your head down in there between the dash, and the large Hydro static oil filter an filter housing. There very little room to see down in there. 3 steel oil lines .. being the charge pump rebuild kit is $1200 plus tax. Judging by the parts manual there many parts that come in the kit. One part it don't show in the list of letters for each part it that outer pump housing. An dealer can't tell me if that housing included. If I knew it was included I'd weld 2 pull rings to the housing to hook a better puller on to. It says to modify a puller to fit. Being I had to cut the puller jaws an grind them very thin. I just bought a cheap $40 puller. Witch flexes bad. There 2. 3/16 holes drilled in the face of the outer housing between 2 of the holes the mounting bolts go though. My though it to drill them out to fit a 3/8" fine thread grade 8 ready rod an weld a nut on one end of 2 peaces of ready rod as pusher bolts to push on the cast steel Axel houseing/Hydro static case. It cast steel not cast iron so no fear of it braking.. being I don't have a shop to work in an rain every day last 2 summers.. I can't take the cold an damp since I broke my back. Hip an leg years ago at work.

​@@umpy3152I did get the spin on the drive shaft a part an cleaned up.. I socked it in a 50/50 mix of ATF an feul oil.. just as I been spraying the same mix on the charge pump shaft an bearing but have not tried since shortly after this video
