A New Hope man is facing criminal charges after allegedly firing a handgun at a gas station. Jeromeo Beavers, 18, was charged with second-degree assault, possession of a machine gun and receiving stolen property in connection with the incident. According to the criminal complaint, Beavers was asking individuals for cigarettes at the Speedway near West Broadway and 62nd Avenue when he got into an argument. He left and came back with a handgun, which he fired at least once. Police later searched his apartment and found a stolen handgun with an auto-sear.
