Oh my gosh she’s exquisite.I love how you painted her face and her hair look amazing. But I have to say the dress is a masterpiece.I can’t believe you added her shift too.every part is done beautifully and really looks so in keeping with the period she’s from. The fact you made her corset and also did her stomacher is brilliant..I have never in my years watching dolls being re painted seen such a stunning and historically correct( you did forget her bloomers they are two legs that are joined at the waistband and usually had frills at the bottom. They we’re not joined but wide open but still gave modesty. I am into historic learning clothes too lol.She was worth every minute you spent on her .My favourite doll I have seen all year off any one.I love her and her shoes I forgot to mention 🥰
I did make her an underskirt, but at some point, because of the size of the doll and the size of the fabric, it all got to be too thick, so I had to cut the bloomers and the underskirt. That’s one of those “caveats” I mentioned. 😅
Thank you! I wish I had gotten into customizing when I was a bit younger, but I was so nervous that I would destroy the doll. Now I’m purposefully destroying dolls! Haha!
I am absolutely LOSING IT at the historically accurate doll-scale panniers and stays 😱🤩 Incredible work!! I can't wait to see the video detailing the dress :)) P.S. you add 10 years to my life every time you say "my wife" 🥺
OMGGGGGG I am completely blown away by her! The silicone bust was such a great idea, and I can't get over all the little details in her gown and underpinnings. 🙌 I love historical clothing as well, and I even have the same book! So it is amazing to see that it is possible to adapt the patterns to doll-size. It was a shame that you weren't able to finish her in time for our Demon XL Collab, but I'm so happy you got to finish her in time for this Halloween Collab! 💖💖💖
I love that you made her so many of the actual undergarments that would've been worn in this time period! She came out beautifully. I can definitely see her mingling with the nobility at Versailles.
Considering how much historical costuming I watch - Holy *shit* you put as much work into this Doll-sized gown as they would put into a Full-size one! Congrats on how that turned out too!
Breathtaking! This is one of the things I love most about the larger-scale dolls, the level of detail you can get into with the costuming. I’d love to watch a video dedicated to the making of the gown.
Wow! This was so incredible to watch. All that brain bending measuring, and math, sewing, boning, embroidery, editing, painting, and hair styling? Is there anything you can't do? Such an impressive skill set and brilliant outcome!
Oh there is a lot I can’t do, but I’m fairly decent at “fake it til you make it”. 😂 And you’re not wrong about the mind bending math. These dolls are 1/3 scale on top and 1/4 scale on bottom. That made for some *interesting* math equations. Lol!
Every time a doll maker RU-vidr mentions their spouse helping them make parts, I die a little bit of happiness. I just imagine someone quietly nodding and smiling off to the side as their SO mutilates a piece of plastic.
She's fantastic!!! Since you showed us your progress I was obsessed with your doll 😻 I can't believe the level of detail that you made, it's mindblowing!!! 💖 Thank you so much for collaborating with me!!! ✨
She is absolutely beautiful! I have an obsession with 18th Century fashion, and I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see the accuracy and detail you put into this. Thank you for creating and sharing this doll. I love her, and she is my favorite now.
Thank you! I try to do something different or special with each dolls and I knew that she needed breasts. It was hard to learn, but now I have something fun in my arsenal. 😉
omg yes! finally another doll artist that loves making historically accurate clothes! this was such a delight to watch and your doll turned out so beautiful 😍
Dollypop's wife is the mvp fr!!! I'm am completely blown away by the precision and effort you put into her outfit (seriously, the tiny boning lining would've had me in tears). Things like deep character lore and complex outfit design always have me obsessed! I love the bust idea, it's absolutely genius! And the shoes, oh the shoes!!! They're so tiny, yet so detailed- I love the different pieces and how well they fit together. Man, I could sit here and sing your praises all day. She definitely takes the cake as my favorite but our little bunny gentleman still has my heart. I've never seen someone put so much effort into clothes except you and Pixienatory (who hand sews everything, literally how???)
Yes! My wife is the true MVP. 100%! Getting into 3D printing has been such a game changer for me! And I also wonder how Pixienatory manages the hand sewing. If you look too closely at my areas of hand sewing, you might not be singing praises any longer! lol!
Oh my Terrifying Ghost stories she's Gorgeous!!! I love everyone's Halloween collab dolls, have a great weekend & Happy Halloween to all & to all a good fright!💖🎃
I kinda hoped @abbycox would see it. Since I used her book to make the dress. 😉 But having Bernadette be proud would be awesome too. (But I didn’t make it with historically accurate items AND I used a sewing machine, so that’s -2 points right there. Lol)
This is,, without a doubt, the most historically detailed OOAK repaint ever, because Abbie Cox book. THERE'S BONING IN HER STAYS!!! Tiny knife pleats!!!
Thankfully I cheated a bit and used a machine whenever I could. I'm not sure how artists like @bernadettebanner or @abbycox are able to manage all of that hand sewing. I definitely struggle to make a straight line!
This is AMAZING! Genuinely one of the best doll customs i’ve ever seen, all the little details bring it together so well and the historical accuracy is even better!
Trust me, you can't. I did film most of the drafting, but a lot of it is simply math. lol! And these dolls are both 1/3 scale and 1/6 scale at the same time. So figuring out the sizing was ROUGH. lol!
Not gonna lie--every time you say, "and then my wife made me..." I melted. I am SO happy that your wife supports and contributes to your art! I think this is the first of your videos that I have seen and I am definitely hooked. Thank you for your amazingness!
I’d love to make a joke that she makes me do it under duress, but the truth is I’ve started getting to the point where I’M the one suggesting overly complicated ideas and things I can model and print.
I love RU-vid's recommendations when it's making me discover amazing things like that. You did an amazing job my friend! Keep going because that's a true talent that you have here :)
Exquisite, elegant and a healthy dash of decadence. THAT is the embodiment of Roccoco. She is stunning. And i admire the fact that you made her undergarments and all. So wonderful. Maybe not the spookiest doll, but the most elegant.
Yeah. I had another doll in mind that would be have a bit more spooky, but life throws you curveballs sometimes and the best we can do is adapt, yanno? But she is still pretty demonic. :P
This video is a master class in doll making. You are insanely talented in so many areas. I have too much to say, so I'll just say, "Wow! Can't wait to see more."
I am lost for words to describe how beautiful, amazing and just awesome this doll and proces is! I love your attention to detail, and giving her POCKETS! Her face! It's just incredible
Historical costuming and doll making??? Sign me up. Also we stan a supportive spouse with 3D modeling/printing skills 10/10 loved this video, you're funny and i like your editing style lol, i love seeing doll artists in these collabs, i feel like Ash Ketchum collecting all the doll artists lol
Brilliant idea! I just love the fact this doll has all the layers. It reminds me of the old fashion dolls that served as models of the latest fashions. The too had everything from all the undergarments to heavily detailed gowns etc. I look forward to your second video on the making of the gown.
I figured that I couldn’t get the appropriate shapes if I didn’t make all of the underpinnings. 😅 Maybe that’s my own stupidity. Lol. I started working on the dress video tonight, so I hope to have that ready for you soon!
@@DollyPop girl don't ever call it natural stupidity, id call it creative insight, and you did it exactly right. Even Mattel when they released the super expensive Marie Antoinette barbie for the adult collector, She even had underpinnings to help with an accurate look to the skirt like the portrait they used for reference.🙂
What an amazing amount of work you put into this doll and her outfit. She is absolutely stunning and the amount of detail you did is just staggering. Most doll customizers wouldn't have bothered with all the layers so well do you for doing that too. Just for your information: The roving you used is the form of fibre before it's spun. The fibre is prepared by first of all cleaning it (animals do lie on the ground after all), then it is combed out to separate all the different strands. This is either done by hand or by a special machine called a carder. Once the fibre has been carded it's called roving, and a person who knows how to spin then takes it and using either a spindle or a spinning wheel (this is for home spinners - I'm not sure what the machine is called in a factory) and then the fluffy roving is spun into thread or yarn. I'm a beginner home spinner so I know a wee bit about this process (and not as much as I'd like to know) so I hope this helps you a bit.
Thank you for the info. I did know all of that, but it’s a lot of info to put into a video that’s more about doll making. I would love a spinning wheel though. Maybe that’ll be a crazy thing I get in the future. The alpaca hair I usually get is long hairs that have been cleaned an carded before being sent to me. It’s easiest used for rerooting though.
Oh my goodness I can't think how much time you spent on this lady but she was worth every second. She is absolutely beautiful from the top of her wig to the toes of her amazing shoes.
Thank you so much! I started her at the beginning of September and have felt in a crunch the entire time until now. I didn’t even get everything done on her that I wanted to.
@@DollyAnna I probably don’t. But I also feel like I don’t know enough about the detail of sewing and when to use what fabrics where and stuff like that. But I’m learning. I’ll get there!
@@DollyPop I think you did/ do an amazing job! For a self-taught seamstress I am beyond impressed. I felt the same way watching you repaint Dollightful's bunny. Can't wait to see what you do next.
Woah……she is gorgeous! You continually push your skills and boundaries every new doll you take on. So impressive and never a dull moment watching your videos. Well done!!
What a wonderful comment! Yes, that's always my goal. If I'm not pushing myself in some way or another, then I'm not sure how I'll ever improve, right?
Wow! Such detail and with authentic construction techniques....you literally costumed that doll...most customizers glue to the body or use warbla to create the look of a corset or stay. You really worked on that doll and it shows. Fabulous!!
Thank you for noticing. One of my major philosophies in doll making is that they should be able to be played with. Which means the clothes need to be removable and sturdy. At least, I try my best to accomplish that. 😅
Oh my, WOW, truly stunned. This doll is incredible, from the coloring of the eyes, to the horns, to the incredible detail put into the outfit, to the stunning face. Wow. The concept is also incredibly cool, I feel like I would watch a tv series about her. Your customization videos always blow me away, the time and effort you (and your wife with all the 3d printing and modelling, stunning work by the way) put in is incredible. The result definitely shows it. I feel like I need to rewatch this video to appreciate all the details some more. The research, my god! And it is so much fun to see you be a part of a collaboration, true joy, will have the best time watching the other participants as well!
She’s beautiful!!! The silicon bust is absolutely inspired!! I was never able to point out what it was about doll corsets that was off, but you are absolutely correct ❤❤❤
