While North America engaged in a practice popular amongst successful civilizations of the time - slavery. Also it was blacks selling Africans into the European and Arabic slave trades, about 20% of free American Blacks had slaves themselves. Whites were also enslaved including the Irish peoples. Reparations of a kind already exist in N. America anyway in the form of Affirmative Action. The call for reparations is insulting to Blacks anyway as it assumes the Black man can't rise up in life without the White man's help. It also assumes if you're born poor then you will always be poor which is rediculous. Listening to these two talk is like listening to simpletons trying to solve a non-issue.

@Cobb Knobbler whites in South Africa are doing fine or great economically while the blacks are mostly very poor or unemployed and frustrated about it, this was handed down from the colonial system to apartheid to the modern state. There literally is nothing a logical person could expect from this situation other than growing hatred that will turn into violence. If white people in South Africa want to feel safe they must help their fellow citizens or leave the country.

What is now called Namibia was administered by South Africa the whole time Hitler was in power and the case was about things that went horribly wrong more than 25yrs before Hitler took power. The problem with not having a national publicly funded news stations like there is in a lot of other countries, is that the cable news which is for profit focuses on entertainment rather than information. If it were that easy for a non-government claimant to sue a foreign state we would see that happening all over the world.
