I wish they would re release the very last pair you showed in your diagram toward the end of your video i had them original release white version not black. Great Video Champ 🏆 🤝
Nike not re-releasing the Air Force Max in 2023 for the 30th anniversary was a huge missed opportunity...I hope some day they will come back in proper form...especially with the huge LONG tongue...Nike for some reason makes the tongues shorter on so many retroes!!! 🤞🤞🤞
Hey forsy! Barkley is top 6 for me. In no particular order, Barkley, Bird, Ewing, Shaq, Wilkins, Erving. I had some of the 180s, but they cracked immediately so I got rid, and I'm about to get rid of the force 180 because they're crap also. If nike remastered them with good paint job and the original sized air unit I'd be all over them.🙏🏻👊
Got the 180s retros....such a beauties, but I couldnt find the black/blue ones, instead I found army olive green ones with white/green spekle midsole....love them shoes because when they came out I wasnt even close to gettin one so its like a childhood dream coming true (like puma disc system👌)
What I am about to say, I am not sure is 100% fact, because I do not have the material to cross reference with. But growing up as a kid in the 80s and being a complete sneaker nut even back then, I do not remember the shoes you are referring to as "Godzilla" because it looked like his teeth. I remember them being named that because it looked like the claws of his feet. I have seen modern explanations agreeing that it was his teeth. But I do not remember it that way. To me it made more sense the way I remember it as it was supposed to represent his feet and the 4 white marks on the shoes looked like the claws of his feet. Cross reference the old Godzilla toys, slippers and cartoon from that era and it might make more sense. Again I am not sure that is fact. I am just saying that is how I remembered it.
Here's the timeline: 1992 - Air Force Max 180 1993 - Air Max B AND the Air Force Max CB (originally retroed as the Air Force Max CB '93) 1994 - Air Force Max CB 94 (Mad mans) 1995 - Air Force CB 34 (Godzillas) Some things to note: --The Air Force Max CB was the first Barkley model released to the public with his number on the heel tab. I believe this was also the first Nike shoe other than a Jordan to have another player's number that was available to the public. So even though you didn't talk much about it, it was a pretty historic shoe in itself. This was even before Penny came along. It's also worth noting this was the shoe, along with the Air Force Max B, that Chuck wore during his MVP season (1992-1993). --The Air Force CB 34 is nicknamed the Godzilla, however, it was never featured in any of the Godzilla v Barkley ads. Those were from earlier ad campaigns that featured other shoes but never this model. You are correct in that it was nicknamed Godzilla because the side resembles the Godzilla teeth or feet.
